Fix Evoker Visage Transformation in Combat

Currently, the transformation isn’t working as intended when using abilities like Fire Breath. For example, when you cast Disintegrate starting in your initial visage human form, it transforms you into the Dracthyr form. Upon finishing the cast you return back into your initial visage human form state. Good!

However, when you cast Fire Breath this does not occur. After cast, it keeps you in the Dracthyr form even after the cast has completed. It takes a whole other global to return back to human form. Bad!

I’m assuming this isn’t work as intended because there would be no point to have visage human form outside of combat. Let us switch between both when we want please Blizzard!

TLDR: Take Visage transformation off Global Cooldown or Fix it!

Did they state that this isn’t working as intended? Or do you mean intended in terms of how you want it to work?

Not sure if they are even aware. As one ability transforms you back - and the other keeps you in. They need to decide what they want the ability to do.

The act of leaving combat or soar is what allows chosen identity to revert to visage form. Since disintegrate is enemy targeted, its always going to put you in combat and will then revert you when you leave. If the spell does not put you in combat, then chosen identity cannot revert you as you never “left combat.” So starting fire breath and either cancelling or not hitting an enemy target to trigger combat, verdant embrace/dream breath on yourself or another target out of combat, etc.

If you use fire breath to initiate combat, or during combat, chosen identity will properly revert you to visage when combat ends. Working as intended.

Or just let us stay visage form in combat and let people who want to look like a dog lizard stay a dog lizard.

Chosen identity works by reverting you back to visage after you are done soaring, or after combat ends. This is the intended function, and it says so on the tooltip.

It’s not supposed to revert you after every single cast. And if you use an ability out of combat, it won’t auto-revert you.

They could do 1 or the other.

1.) Visage Form Preference, add some casting animations for the Visage form for spells like Azure Strike, disintegrate; etc to be incorporated. Then add an auto shift back after Fire Breath, Dream, or dragon-based spell. Like when Hover is over or Verdant Embrace.

Taking it off GCD would help but it would just be a bandaid that would result in us having to use macros off every ability.

2.) constantly try to fix and patch the dang thing after every patch when more and more bugs come out.

He is referring to it after he fires breaths in combat. he doesn’t;t change back after combat ends.

Which would not be following the tooltip or its intended use of the function.

he never mentioned combat, and I tested fire breathing after initiating combat, to initiate combat, and before initiating combat, and all 3 correctly revert to visage once combat ends.

I definitely had this intent of mind.

That is definitely one band-aid alternative. Or maybe they can just let us pick which form we want to fight in combat with - and make dragon visage transformation something similar to DH eye beam with temporary change to metamorphosis.

Unfortunately, mine has not been working for over a week now. I’ve not had any problems prior to the last maintenance window, but now I can’t get out of my dracthyr form at all…even after combat.

So its broken.

Did you untoggle it?

I feel like people are either confusing chosen identity for visage in their spellbook and hitting it exactly the wrong amount of times for it to work (because they’re hitting it repeatedly expecting it to transform them), or they’re having an addon interfere with it. I have not heard any other evokers have this problem

I forgot to come back here to report that after the following maintenance Tues mine was working again. Have no idea what happened or how, but its now working fine.

Yeah, I love the class and the visage form but can’t stand the dragon form. Then having no transmog with dragon form makes it even worse. Just auto change back to visage after every spell that requires dragon form even in combat. They could then make the dragon model look like a proper dragon because you won’t be running around in that form. It needs to be a toggleable feature though because some people really like the dragon model as it is.

There’s are like 5 of these posts made a week and you went all the way back to this one to necro?

Does it really matter?

In the sense that I’m intrigued as to why you’d look back 9 months for a thread about something you have to look back like a day for, lol, sure.

Calm down.

forum mods don’t like necros so yeah it matters.

they only care when people actually flag it instead of just constantly responding
