I do not like questing. Never have in the 14 years playing this game. There’s basically zero danger in dying and I do not consider that fun. I just want to hop into the new dungeons and check them out. I need ilvl of 80 to do that. The only possible way I see to do that is by questing.
I have been questing for over an hour and literally nothing but gold quests. No upgrades. I do not enjoy this. Its making me hate the game already.
I respect the change to 20 ftps, but, pvp is still totally busted while leveling. Its never been this bad. You get 90% hpd from one rising sun kick or one chaos bolt or a couple of buttons on an SV.
Sure, you dont balance for low level pvp, but come on. Does it really have to be this awful and you still not address it? What does that say about you as devs?
There is really a simple solution that I cant imagine would be very hard to implement that would permanently fix people abusing game mechanics to create uber powerful toons to GY farm with. Just cap stats in instance pvp based on the bracket. 100 (10-19) 125 (20-29) and so forth. Cap secondary stats at like 20%.
Then no matter what people find that is busted scaling wise, it wont matter. Its permanently fixed.
And for a positive. Mechanically the classes Ive messed around with feel really good. Also, wherever we are this expansion, the world looks pretty cool.
The only people who would not want stats capped in low level pvp are degenerates who like to find whats busted so they can grieve others in leveling pvp.
Your opinion doesnt matter if you are a degenerate.
Currently, a level 29 can get better stats on most of their pieces than a level 50 due to gemming that the devs goofed up.
If I have to spend 2 hours clicking things, following scripted NPCs, and face rolling mobs while questing, could I at least get 1 piece of gear for my troubles since I am only doing it so I can actually play the game the way I want to in dungeons?
Fix the abysmal state of lower level PVP from gem abusing one shot gy farming. Just cookie cut the stats for instanced PVP up to the last 10 levels so people stop finding broken mechanics to abuse.
Or at the very least for now break gems until lvl 50 in instanced pvp.
Rated PVP would be end game and thats a different story to me plus I havent done it yet in this xpac or really since WoD.
But, there is no way people should be running around at level 14 with nearly the same primary stats as a level 50 and being able to one shot you with rising sun kick.
Low level pvp is broken totally. Its not just a question of balance. Its just completely broken and in a shape the devs should be embarrassed for letting it stay like that.
My suggestion to you OP is try to avoid low level pvp until your at the higher lvl of the pvp bracket, at that point you normally don’t get one shotted as long as you have some decent gear on you.
I was able to enjoy wow my way with little questing for 5 expansions.
I mean I would enjoy them if they had any semblance of a challenge, but I literally spent 3 hours clicking objects, following people, exiting cut scenes, and listening to npcs scripting.
There is more complexity in facebook games. Its actually sad really.
And I didnt get one piece of gear. Total joke.
Maybe its me but it seems like the simpler solution is they just cap stats in low level pvp so it stops being a cess pool of degenerate griefers. Kind of weird to just avoid a section of the game when they could fix it for less than the cost of one of the dozens of cut scenes people exit out of after the first week.
Yeah pvp while leveling is pretty silly some rounds. Hunters and monks hit for 1800 health when I have 2000 total. So that’s a little silly. If it was a more level playing field I think it would be more enjoyable.
I’m the complete opposite feeling of you towards leveling however. It’s the best part of the game to me.
The reason they do is because they are buying relic of the past gem slotted gear and stacking them with +3s, or farming BC dungeons for gem slots.
At level 19 you can have 15 primary stat from helm, chest, and legs each. Thats 1 more primary than a level 50 chest. Its not intended. They just forgot to break BC gems when they broke gems for every other xpac that gave +3.
Just capping stats per bracket under level 50 would mean they would never have to worry about people figuring out how to become broken.
I like leveling. I just dont like questing in its current state.
I just want to try the new dungeons out and Im trying to hit 80ilvl and i spent hours doing quests with no gear reward just to finally get to quests with upgrades. Its goofy to me.
My only other choice is to buy tokens so I can get greens off AH which im not doing. 2 hours in and I remember why i left this game.
