Hi just wondering if fisweaving on mw monk necessarily to do well now?
shhhhhh you will summon him!
In terms of M+, fistweaving will do more damage, but you will be able to complete content the vast, vast majority of the playerbase does by doing either a more caster-focused build or a fistweaving build.
In M+, with good group, fw is much better than caster build. with PuG group in M+ that don hv voice communication, caster build is better so that we can heal thru avoidable damage. If you do delve, then fw is >>>>>>>>> caster build.
In Raid, caster build always better than fw.
Raid still prefers Rising Mist so you’ll be in melee regardless to keep RSK on cooldown.
This isnt true. On bosses with Cleave Fistweaver will outperform Caster by a substantial level.
But bosses like Princess Caster is better because you cant allign cooldowns with her phases well.
No, actually traditional Mistweaving is better than ever this expansion.
Mistweavers didn’t get anything new or fancy, but Soothing Mists, Vivify, and Enveloping Mists all have been drastically buffed this expansion.
You won’t output as much damage as fistweavers but your healing output as mistweavers should be much more than fistweaving.
well now we have to add ‘traditional mistweaving’ to the list of mistweaver terms no one can agree on the meaning of. XD
Traditional, Standard, Classic, Basic, Established, Well-known, Typical Mistweaving
Which ever word floats one’s boat
Theres a few renditions in terms of talent builds but the core-rotation is all similar none-the-less
Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t Fistweaving quite literally one of Mistweaver’s unique gimmicks?
I wouldn’t consider fistweaving a gimmick anymore, not since post Legion or so. They’ve established fistweaving since making it more viable every new expansion.
I mean in the sense that, relative to other healers, it’s Mistweaver’s thing. Like, the mechanic it’s built around. But that’s neat to know.
Yes like mentioned, fistweaving progressively became more prominent, having more core mechanics built into its talent system over each expansion starting around Legion or so.
When mistweavers were still using chi resource, their core rotation revolved around Uplift and such. They could always spill dps, but not necessarily provide healing output from dpsing like today.
Fistweaving is for squares
Imagine going to a bar and telling a chick you fistweave in WoW
3 button rotation where all you do is hit keys that light up
Zzzz
Not in Raid on Brood or Court. You’ll never beat a Fistweaver in healing on those bosses.
Imagine going into a bar mentioning WoW at all.
They actually could originally, in MoP there was a mechanic to heal a target for a percentage of the damage. Then it was spun off into a dedicated stance in WoD, and removed completely in Legion.
You can still find part of the eminence effect under the changelog for summon jade serpent statue on WoWhead.
I fistweaved everything in mop and wod, blanketing groups and abusing uplift while being in the lower-middle of the damage charts. Stopped playing before legion and just recently returning and I haven’t touched fist weaving yet. While I like some of the direction they’ve gone with fistweaving, it shouldn’t be a pick and choose between fistweaving and having your soothing/env mist heal for more than first aid heals. Feel’s kind of pidgeonholed right now.
