Fists of Fury channel too long

Although most of Windwalker’s flow is really good, and popping Fists of Fury gives you a chance to regenerate some much needed energy, it still slows down the spec. And in some cases, can lead to very frustrating gameplay. I would love to see FoF channel time to be cut to about half, so a 2 sec channel. Instead of it dealing damage every sec, make it every half second, similar to Spinning Crane Kick. Might have to adjust some energy costs like Tiger Palm, albeit very slightly(would love to be able to see what it would feel like at 10 energy less.) Fist of the White Tiger might not even need an energy reduction. MAYBE reduce the cooldown on Rising Sun Kick and Fists of Fury, but maybe not. Would love any thoughts and ideas

I dont PvP but i would imagine trying to get the full damage potential out of one of our most important abilities would be rather difficult. With being interrupted while channeling, or prey simply not being in our melee range for the full 4 seconds, a shorter time for its full damage would make things much nicer

Turbo fists PvP talent makes it really hard to get away from fists.

Totally agree, my biggest turnoff to Windwalkers since inception is a melee class with a long, boring channel that looks, sounds and feels like crap as it’s hardest hitting ability/major spender.

This class would be PERFECT if they got rid of SEF (or make it completely optional) and change FoF to a kung fu version of Rampage.

It really feels weird hitting FoF, and seeing all of those spiritual chi fist attacks, and the slow 1 sec apart damage sounds and numbers

I actually love the fact that FoF gives me a short breather in my rotation. Hopefully it stays the same.

if it was to be changed in some way, i’d like to see it toned down a bit and made into a buff… or like mentioned above- shorten the channel but add some umph to compensate.

Ya, I actually like FoF’s channel. Gives me a second to think and plan my next moves. I’d hate it if it became like a fury warrior’s rampage.

Rampage is actually different. It doesnt have a channel time. It only spans its global cooldown. It could be possible FoF would feel too quick, but I do believe that a 2 second channel wouldnt feel that rushed

Why do people want to make monks like everyone else?

Fists of fury has a dumb animation, but its what of the defining mechanics of ww

uh i never had an issue with FoF tbh, always like it. atleast now we can move while we use it

my compromise is cut down the channel time but make it a kung fu combo like Rampage without weapons. Keep it a channel though, since many still like that.

Always irked me that FoF had a long channel and screamed “stun me to cut a huge part of my damage”

It just feels so bad when you start fists of fury, and then the enemy starts an interruptible cast, or you want to heal or detox, or group stun, or the enemy begins a huge aoe ability you have to move out of. All interrupting one of our core abilities. Just feels really bad

Agree completely!

But hard pass on that one.

I’d love to see FoF gone completely. But unless the Energy/Chi system are removed too (aka, Complete Class Overhaul), I think it needs to be in the kit for the regen gap. I just don’t see that happening anytime soon.(If ever…)

I actually like SEF. not that being unique is a reason in and of itself, but it can be more than just a “more damage, hit button” ability.

As for the regen gap, i think it wouldnt even be that noticeable if Tiger Palm’s energy cost was slightly reduced. Even lowered by 10 energy i think it would fee fine

It use to be “more” originally. It was permanent and completely at the monk’s whim.
But we had people who didn’t comprehend that you shouldn’t use the ability single target and would even get belligerent if you tried to explain why it’s wrong to do so.
Also it took some macros to work properly, but man I use to be able to do so much with it.
