Can anyone recommend a location that is best to fish? I noticed somewhere someone mentioned to do the fish daily quests…could someone elaborate on what those are and where I go to begin? Thanks in advance!
You can fish in any open water and gain skill for that expansion. To fish just go to the water and activate your fishing ability. You’ll get a lot of junk as you’re leveling but you can minimize this if you look for Fishing Pools as you travel around. Pools give you 3-5 fish. As you level, you can earn new poles, fishing lines, and gear to improve your fishing skill. You can also fish up toys, battle pets and a few mounts as well.
There are fishing dailies in Stormwind, Ironforge, Darnassus (flip to the past), and Exodar for Alliance. You can do one the daily in one city per day. There are also dailies in Shattrath, Northrend Dalaran, and Pandaria. You can do these every day.
The garrison fishing quest still gives 15 levels daily. Just need to fish up a lot of fishies for the turn-in eggs.
For BfA, just go fish. Need fishes for cooking so not a waste of time.
There is no best place to fish - you can fish anywhere and get gains at a steady rate.
There is a daily classic fishing quest in the capital cities (3 for each faction, but they share a common cooldown). The skill-up isn’t really worthwhile, but the reward bag has a few nice rare items.
The outland quest by the lake outside Shattrath unlocks at 70 and also has a few rare pets.
The Northrend daily quest in Dalaran unlocks at 60 now.
Pandaria has a variety of activities with the anglers dailies at the southern coast, 3 rare fish that can be caught daily for rep with Nat specifically. Also Ben of the Booming Voice can direct you to a daily superspawn of pools (not that pools really make a difference for levelling)
Fishing shack in your garrison has a daily, but you’ll probably max out the WoD skill just doing the achievments to unlock the upgrades)
Legion has fisherfriends which are a daily spot to grind rep for toys, make progress towards the Underlight Angler (catch all 18 of the rare fish) and potentially meet people.
BfA … um … well, there are new fish.
Note that to level your fishing in an expansion, you have to learn fishing for that expansion from a trainer in one of the expansions zones.
Get the track fish ability. It comes https://www.wowhead.com/item=34109/weather-beaten-journal
The only place I know to get it is in Outland. Once learned It shows fish schools (not pools) on your minimap as yellow dots.
No, the garrison daily now only gives one skill point and that’s, naturally, in Draenor fishing, which is completely irrelevant if you want to do Legion or BfA fishing.
Are you sure? I’ve sent my lowbies back there for fishing daily in BfA and swear they still got 15 in Warlords fishing.
Fishing is a weird profession - you can fish in Legion and BfA waters at level 1 but you need to be learn Legion fishing to even learn BfA fishing. There was a hard minimum to learn Legion fishing - hence the traveling back to the garrison to fish.
Anyway, go fish.
Blizzard forgot fishing exists in BFA
Maybe there will be more fishing stuffs with 8.2 when we go under the sea.
I like that all my alts can stop to fish when they see a pool along the way and actually catch fish instead of junk. At least that’s productive.
