Well I was wondering what I’d be doing in game today, guess I can stealth camp the harpoon spots for an hour or two.

It should at least do 1 damage. What’s weird is that it puts me in combat when I harpoon them, so how is it not tagged?

I don’t understand that quest at all. We can just kill it, right? Like you can just shoot the mob and kill it easily before the timer goes down on its cast and it goes underwater. But I do agree for the mdps who need to harpoon it, it should absolutely give credit to them as well.
If you’ve harpooned it before it dies, can’t you still go and loot it for the quest item?

Just kill it yourself, you don’t have to harpoon it and it’s quicker.

there is no reason to harpoon fish. No benefits at all. It even takes more time. Just kill it.

Why do those damn lunkers even have a rage bar. I don’t see a purpose in it. The whole thing feels like an unfinished mechanic.
I think it has to do with the tag limit. If you outright kill them, only up to 5 people can tag the mob. If you harpoon them, then anyone else who has also harpooned them can loot.

Lunkers should take reduced damage, it makes sense because they’re slippery, so your attacks slide right off.
Don’t you still get credit? 
I find it funny that punching in melee a fish tags it, but impaling it through the ribs with a harpoon does 0 damage.

I’ve run into scenarios where sometimes it lets me loot, sometimes it doesn’t. I have no idea what determines which state, because I’m just harpooning things like normal when I do.
If I’m on a character that can kill them fast enough, I’ll just kill them. Unless someone else is harpooning them, then I’ll join in that way.
Unless they fixed it, no.

There is one reason though: Achievement for pulling 50 fishes with the harpoon.
Also harpooning always tags the fish for me.

- Be a Death Knight
- Harpoon + Death Grip
- Instant dead fish, Death Grip CD gets reset due to talent.

You get cheevos for doing it with a group of players too, however now I know you can just kill them I’ma go that route.
Yeah that too. 2, 5 and 10 ppl (10 is never gonna happen without premaking the group).

It’s a community thing but yes you should get credit for the thrashers. It is disappointing to have the shells to do them and someone comes along hit it and you get nothing,yet i don’t worry about it because I normally have too many of them like 200.
