Is anyone else having issues where if you’re not fishing in a pool, you get a “empty loot” when fishing?
Been fishing pools in Tanaris past few days, but finally resolved to do a ocean cast after each pool to try and get the last few points I need for max cooking.
Problem is, 9/10 It’s a empty loot. Even multiple times in a row.
Does the “Looting” sound as if looting a mob then nothing.
I can only catch from pools now in Tanaris. 
What the heck. O.o
That is weird. I’ve been fishing a ton (painfully got to 225/225 for the quest), and nothing of the sort happened. I even went to Desolace to get a fish for Pat and no issues there either.
It’s been a problem. I just need a few Mightfish for 300 cooking. But since Yesterday, ocean fishing results in the glitch.
Maybe it’s just the coast of Tanaris affected.
I was about to say, maybe it’s an isolated area/issue?

I’ve fished to 230 now and have not had this issue at all. I’ve fished all over both continents. Have you tried turning off auto loot? Do you have any add ons that perform any sort of looting automation? If I were you I’d submit a bug report and while you are waiting on any response for that you can set your loot settings to the most basic settings. No auto loot and turn off all add ons and see if it still happens.
Just did a few casts with Addons AND auto loot turned off. No dice. No auto loot just brings up a empty “Loot” screen and plays the mob looting noise.
What’s awful is it wasn’t like this two nights ago. I had a few empty loots, but was still able to mostly get fish.
Now it’s no fish.
You fished all of the fish out. You have nothing left to learn. You are the master angler.
But the pools are still there! D:
Not seen that, I just get “fish got away” even in pools. I gotta raise my level again, I would have thought level 80 would get stuff in pools in Stonetalon.
I faced a similar issue where my seal of the crusader procs started missing every time. About 20 times.
I then reloaded the ui and it fixed itself. Have you tried that?
It may seem unrelated, but from an abstract coding perspective, it is probably the same issue.
I reloaded ui a few times when testing turning off addons. Tried doing another reload as per your suggestion and it’s still giving me the middle finger.

Edit: Update: Got a few people with high level fishing to come out and test, and they can’t get any loot either, so it’s for sure not a personal loot issue.

If any of you have high enough fishing to check, do you mind rolling up to Tanaris to ocean fish?
I’m on Mankrik, and if it’s a only Mankrik problem it narrows down the issues.
I’ll keep this is mind.
Just finished Nats quest this morning and finishing up some STV quests before headed over to Tanaris.
Thank you! For all we know it could be a tauren issue as well, everyone on my server who helped was a tauren. The more we narrow down this issue the faster they can fix it.
Edit: If you’re still around 225 grab some night crawlers. Even with Big Iron Fishing pole I had to use night crawlers to stop stuff from getting away, stuff stopped running when I had 280 w/o lure, so 300 base. Hope that helps.
Tauren fisherman here on Whitemane. I just encountered this by chance not 2 hours ago. In Tanaris, on the coast. No loot. Bag pops up empty. I can still skillup though. I’m at about 209 b4 buffs.
Edit: Just saw a similar post on the EU forums from within the last day. People reaching 225 then can’t fish. Supposedly reports from other races/areas.
