Just curious if its better to fish with a pole or not to bother.

yea but i mean will using the fishing enchants with a pole like +15 fishing and everything will it get me fish faster or will i get more fish or is there nothing to benefit by using those items.

And forget the expac but one gives an upgraded line buff. I’ve fished mainly in legion so want to say its from there. But not 100% sure.
really sure its not BFA. BFA killed any fun for fishing imo. No goodies I know of to work rng for.
I personally like my dead bone fishing pole from the fishing dailies in the capital cities.
My nightborn got the gold/gem one so that is kind of fitting for her.
If you’re fishing from pools, then it doesn’t matter, you have a 100% catch rate regardless. If you’re fishing from open water, then a fishing pole can increase you fishing skill and reduce your chance at getting junk items.
Theres the whole special fish mechagon thing you need glasses for.
so they added something finally? may have to work mechagon more. Hasn’t been a zone I rushed too tbh.

The ocean orb toy is nifty as well.
There’s Secret Fish of Mechagon followed by Secret Fish and Where to Find Them. The end reward is a toy, Hyper-Compressed Ocean, that creates a floating water ball that you can fish from and it can drop any fishable item.
Some have a couple other special buffs, I have that pole I got from the Northrend Taunka, it gives me Water Breathing while I have it equiped
More skill buffs are only important if you’d NOT be able to catch fish there anyway, while not fishing in a pool.
My Hunter has the Legion pole, with a fishing line buff/etc. It is more convenient for her, with the water walking thing on it.
This character has no fishing pole at all, so when I fish it is just the default pole. Even so, I had no problem with the Mechagon fishing daily for rep (which maxed my fishing, fairly rapidly 
, from JACK SQUAT to the fishing max.) , eons before I was exalted to Mech. ) I have DK water walking, so kind of started the Legion pole thing but then really saw no need for it in BFA. I’ve even been doing the secret fish thing, on this character, with no special pole.

That map was a lifesaver, for the mechagon fishing rep dailies. Boom, a fun way to max fishing with no special pole (you just get less “junk” as the skill gets higher, but it was never really that bad.)

I highly suggested spending some time to get the legendary fishing pole from Legion.
It is extremely handy to have for the water walking and swimming.
Other than that not sure I would bother. There are some pretty cool looking fishing poles out there though.
