Fishing nodes...help? O.o

Alright soooo, I use gathermate and the like. Once upon a time in all the other xpacs I was/am able to see the fishing pools/nodes on my map. I am realistic in knowing that not all the data is going to be available for me to just pluck from cyberspace and cuddle. But, the thing is. Even pools/nodes I’ve fished do not come up on the map. Anyone have any ideas or advice? <3

Tracking fishing nodes is an ability gained through the achievement “Fish Don’t Leave Footprints” which, according to character profile you used for posting, hasn’t been earned yet by your character (it is a per-character achievement). The achievement is gained from getting the “Weather-Beaten Journal”. The book is looted from trunks/crates you fish in schooner wreckage pools or from sagefish pools.

It generally takes me about 30-45 min to get this through fishing in the Wetlands zone of Eastern Kingdom. Fly just over the water of the big lake in the zone and you’ll see the pools on the water (they won’t show on the minimap but will be on the water). Fly too high and you can’t see them. You can get the drops from fishing in other zones (check out schooner wreckage and sagefish pools on wowhead), but this is my favorite place to get the achievement on new characters.

Thanks for the info, was mostly talking about SL though. I prolly should’ve mentioned that it wasn’t for me. My hubby(he uses the same addons), is having issues. And he does have the achievement

If you were referring to seeing the nodes on the Main world map, this was a feature from the Gathermate addon and until recently it wasn’t working. It is fixed now though. Make sure:

  • You have updated the Gathermate addon since Dec 18.
  • You are tracking Fishing nodes with the normal game Tracking icon
  • You have checked the “Show World Map” option for Gathermate in the Interface screen.
  • On the Filters page you have selected all the Shadowlands fishing types you want to see.
  • You have Imported the Shadowlands Expansion data through its Interface screen.
