Ain’t no way skinning is generating this much gold, because the leather and chitin aren’t worth a crazy amount. Unless you’re getting insanely lucky procs of perception and getting hides and carapace, or bone fragments, but even then.

OK, I’ll bite (pun intended) what WQs are you doing for 20k an hour? Because that’s bollocks. And not sustainable. You certainly can’t do it every hour because even if you are lucky and get multiple 800g quests come up, they take a couple of days to reset.
Unless you plan to have dozens of level 80 alts doing it. And yes, they have to be level 80 for the 800g quests to spawn. A sub 80 would only see item drops on the same quests.
Yes, just fishing is a debatable way to earn gold. Maybe there are better ways of doing it. But I can read a book while clicking on my mouse when I hear a ding. It’s almost AFK work for maybe small but appreciable gain. Effort purely optional. And hurts nobody.

I like fishing. I do it a lot when I’m waiting on ques, or just chilling while chatting with friends.
Sure; I’d love it if the system was a little more involved than clicking the bobber, or hitting a key with better fishing. I feel like New World did fishing much better.
But, I’m not going to mind if they never bother to change it from what it is now.

I remember time in RL I use to wish with my old man…
He not around anymore but I enjoy fishing and cooking fish I catch… take me back innocet time… as well it a lot better than market “Freshly catch fish” are more are more flavor then store bought.

One of the biggest problems with WoW is that everyone turned into “optimize this, maximize that” and then forgot how to just enjoy the freaking game.

I enjoy fishing, I like to fish when I can to Legion fishing, it was crazy time for fishing I got toys, I got shirt, I even found whacky fishing bobber and Join in crazy soical stuff fishingin great pool, I miss fishing in legion it was best thing ever.

It crazy that folk hate one thing but never try to relax then again, they never know wonder of fishing and learning about crazy stuff you can find, I still remember foundly of ashbinger quest when have to fish up on my pally to find that lich.
And I saw so many pally fishing… crazy.
