Everything else has become profession gear, so it would be great to see the hats follow suit so we need not carry it in our bag or forget to switch back after we finish up.
Last mention according to the “Your topic is similar to…” was in December 2022. Has there been anything said on the subject?
Never saw an explanation or a rational for the fishing hat remaining in the bags really. Pretty much stopped scratching my head about it, the hole was unseeingly.
Some of the fishing hats have a cloth armor type. (Maybe it’s only the Weather-beaten Fishing Hat.) I’d like them to be cosmetic for transmog and profession gear.
(I’d love for the low level cloth engineering pieces to be cosmetic as well.)
I believe the original reason was that if you had a hat profession equipment then you could also wear old fishing hats and get more fishing skill than they wanted. They wanted it to be an alternative to the ones you already had and didn’t want people to feel like the old hats were useless. They also didn’t want people to feel compelled to do old content to get “the best of the best of the best” gear to get skill (to have both the old one and the new one equipped at the same time). Also there were quests for old fishing gear that were removed and they didn’t want people to have an advantage over others.
I don’t think this is as much of an issue now though.
That was pretty much resolved with the + per expansion skill instead of the all encompassing + skill.
This needs to be a thing. I’d love to be able to wear all the fishing gear I have and be able to xmog my fishing pole. My jeweled fishing pole is just sitting in my bank taking up space for this to come.
