same with me but 20 mins and i was in hallowfall also
Yeah, I just commented on that based on a couple other folks saying that the Wowhead comment is wrong. I shall edit my post I think
it would depend on the fish they want you to catch plus people could use lures for one or two fish this week which makes a huge difference
i confess. i ate all the fish.
You could get 45 marks for this weekly. Make sure you have 300 skill, plus true sight phial, plus bonefish food buff that +30 skill and +100 perception and of course, hat and fishing pole.
Prepare a lure for rainbow fish.
Prepare those fishes that throw into water for luring other fishes.
Then you go and search for all fishing points. The hammer fish requires blood pool.
Once you get all 20 fishes in 1 hour buff, you then submit the quest. You get 45 mark currency!
All, great feed back. I’ll give it go next Saturday.
I think all those buffs are overkill and not necessary. If you are maxed out fishing with a green rod and hat - you don’t need anything else to even complete the achievement let alone the quest. Of course, you will have an easier time using lures.
You get the mark for each of the 20 fish as you catch it, even if you have already turned in the quest. I did test that part. Not sure about the achievement for catching all 20 during the derby, but you do get marks for unique fish after quest turn in.
This is true as a starting fisher, but eventually at very high skill you do start to catch fish from open water. Note that with threads endgame, fishing appears to have a very high ceiling in this expansion.
I am kind of excited about that. I love fishing and enjoy having THINGS TO DO with it.
Of course, this is all going to take leveling alts to make the profession gear. At least I have something to do.
I got my fishing to 240 before any additional buffs from fishes or gear. Today, I fished I don’t know how many blood pools and never got the trophy fish - I only ever found ONE royal ripple pool. Needless to say - big fail. I think Blizzard needs to rethink how many pools spawn - right now it’s not fun, it’s an exercise in frustration.
this is something that will naturally become less popular in a few months. I just wish I had levelled up my fishing on a character with no profession progress so I could use the AA for the blue fishing pole.
i got 2/3 last week and then the buff vanished on me… i went back to the npc’s location but everything/everyone had vanished.
abandoned it and im never going back there again
You don’t need max level or an expansion fishing rod to do this. I think I was level 220 fishing, Legion Artifact fishing pole, Nat’s hat, Anglin Treads, and the gloom fish food buff. OH, an a pirate outfit because I had to do that.
Threw the bait fish into the Royal Ripple pool.
That was it. I was not over 300 fishing. I was able to complete it. Comes down to RNG though.
I work Saturday’s, thought I could try it.
Wish it was at least 2-3 times a week.
gus will save you.
I came back to the game about 3 months ago and won the STV derby on my first try (and probably only 2nd or 3rd try ever). Yay for doing it during the pre-expansion dead zone when there was no one else playing WoW.
I feel like I work at a mental institution instead of retail sometimes.
if i have to explain to another old person the concept of what the phrase ‘next time’ means.
I know you don’t need max level - I already got the mount. However, my main character needs all the AA they have for main professions and that is the one who has max level fishing so although I want the blue fishing rod I won’t have it for months on that character.
I have a dozen characters with 350 AA though that have no real use for it who could have maxed out the fishing instead.
