Fishing and Pathfinder

In reference to the discussions about pathfinder for 10.2, I wanted to get a sense of what GD feels about this:

I’m curious if there’s any thought regarding why fishing is required to complete some of the loremaster-based quests in Azure Span.

Specifically this quest:

It is part of the Sojourner of Azure Span.

Fishing is an easily obtained skill, but having done all the other pathfinders since their inception on this character without either of the “primary” secondary professions (fishing & cooking), I find it odd it is now required.

(RP reasons for not taking fishing, hence the realms I’ve been on with Fairlight)

So in a sense, fishing is required for this upcoming pathfinder. Huh.

Yes. And to be clear, it’s been required since S1 in order to complete the meta achievement of loremaster. I don’t believe anything specific was tied to that achievement - until recently with the upcoming unlocks with pathfinder.

I’m tracking that it’s just fishing and easily picked up, but, it’s the concept that bugs me from an RP perspective. It’s always been optional - to my knowledge. (Heck my WoD garrison still has that empty fishing hole plot)
