First week thoughts for Holy and its future

I was going off assumptions based on my previous experiences with Lightweaver andit wasn’t until I looked at the raw data from the logs today that I saw that Lightweaver had that much potential. It synergies with Archon due to the free SoL procs.

Also, just as a fyi I played Flash Concentration all of Shadowlands, and Lightweaver at the start of DF until Divine Image was overhauled.

I’m going to stick with Divine Word for M+ though for now simply because I like its flexibility.

Grats on quick H kill. Next thoughts… do we go all in heal by dropping circle / prayer spells and grabbing pontifix, crisis management, trail of light? Circle is accumulating a lot of hps right now and is great for topping up, but is coming at talent point cost. And if circle is dropped, harmonious can be dropped too, that’s a lot of points available to strengthen this build

This is the build I was using tonight:

I was running Trail of Light, but switched it for Enlightenment because I was getting close to ooming on Heroic Queen. P1+intermission is pretty intense on the healing checks. This fights pretty overtuned for a Heroic boss and is going to need a lot of nerfs imho.

1 point in Harmonious feels mandatory because you lose out on casting PoM and CoH while in Apotheosis.

I was talking about Lightweaver versus non-Lightweaver to resetting Salvation, not Archon versus Oracle to resetting Salvation.

Both hero talents are very close in terms of their contribution to Salvation resets, they just express that contribution differently.

But Lightweaver versus no Lightweaver is lowkey a huge world of difference, because Lightweaver “forces” a rotation that saves a lot of mana while you try to reset Salvation.

I understood what you meant, I was adding to it.

Oracle gets more Answered prayers procs. Utilizing them can get you even faster salv - is all I was saying.

And that’s why I dropped CoH and PoH entirely.

Doing that will save 8 talent points, because you no longer need to take Benediction to apply Renew for Healing Chorus, or Voice of Harmony because the value is largely diminished when only PoM would benefit from it.

Of these 8 points, two go into “dead” talents in Afterlife and Chastise(although you can still use Chastise just for Divine Image so it’s not an entire waste), then the rest of the six goes into Trail of Light(1), Everlasting Light(1), Crisis Management(2), Pontifex(1), leaving 1 final point for Gales of Song.

Yeah, without the reliable renew bonus on CoH the actual raw healing power is actually really low.

And much of the value that CoH used to provide in AoE healing Archon does with Halo and Oracle does with Piety.

If renew felt worth casting again CoH would feel better as well, but this isn’t my frist post on the sorry state of hard casted renew. Give us back empowered renew or something! Maybe with that priest rework that is seemingly never coming.

That was tragic when they took away empowered renew!

If Lightweaver is looking good now, bodes well for our 4 piece as it’s a 17.5% increase to its heals!

Healed for the first raid week until our guild prunes people for mythic push. My take is Holy is in a VERY good spot. My gear was all haste/mastery and i was beating a lot of main healers using Lightweaving. On some pulls i was maintaining 1m hps or more during fights and not going oom. Holy feels incredible, especially with Archon. Halo feels super good to press now and ill save it for high damage sections of fights or for high movement mechanics.

Im 602 ilevel and was healing in normal and heroic.

Holy’s going to pull back a bit on hps once we start getting in Mythic because our Halo #'s are getting inflated because of hitting 21+ players. At least on the beta, Holy was mid-tier during those tests.

I’ve done all the dungeons on a +5/6 except for Vault and Grim because I ran out of time before raid. Archon Holy def slaps pretty hard. +5s don’t even feel that much more challenging than m0s.

The most overtuned boss hands down is the last one in City of Threads. The boss casts splice on the group that ticks for a ton and then she does an aoe ability that hits for 2.5-3mil on a +6. The combo full hps you without a defensive.

Next hardest bosses is the 3rd in NW because it’s non-stop pulsing aoe damage for most of the fight. Then you got the Kraken boss at the end of Siege who combo’s slams with dots going out. You just dispel one and pump heals the others.

You def want to run Phantom Reach for Mists because people can outrange you on the last boss.

Other than the last boss in threads: everything feels pretty well tuned.

Grim Batol feels pretty bad TBH. That dungeon will get immeasurably better if the warlocks didn’t exist or they changed the antiheal cast to an interrupt.

The bosses were pretty easy, the last does a decent chunk of damage, though - and it still has the problem where the AoE can just center on a spot in the corner of the room where half of it is covered by rocks/objects and you can’t stand there properly.

But yeah dungeons are way easier now than beta it feels. Haven’t been trying to push any up really (I’ve been disconnecting all night), but +2s and 3s alone were way easier than beta IMO.

Those BFA dungeons… they were still pushing the e-sports really big back then right? All of them are filled to the brim with the most annoying overabundance of trash with every debuff, knockback, disorient, stun, backstabber and cheap instant-kill mechanics.

Grim batol is a cata dungeon.

It’s more just designed in a way that was meant to be taken WAY slower and with CC and having 2-3 mobs in a pack that can antiheal shield the full party for their entire health bar is pretty yikes.

Oh yeah duh, I was thinking of Boralusfor some reason.

Although Cata was notoriously janky for its day and age (remember GC’s infamous “heroic dungeons are hard!” post), at least it lacks BFA-level complexity, although I swear those MC’ing tentacles have a hit box that’s beyond what’s telegraphed.

I see what you were talking about with being able to use Lightweaver without consuming charges. It only seems to happen when under PI.

Whats the best raid spec right now I enjoy Oracle?

Huh… I can get it regardless of PI. It’s maybe a haste threshold thing? Basically only works if you can spell queue heal>heal. Also if you get an instant cast heal for any reason, or put anything between those heals it won’t work.
