First time rogue but not first time in wow

I seen a lot of assassin and combat rogue specs at lvl 60. But what’s best for lvling?

I had a good time as Outlaw when I was leveling. No matter the spec, take pots with you.

Find your playstyle with it and have fun with it. The survivability can be a pain so be ready to say heck with it. Lol.

Amen to Brother Hãnse. Until you get the flask skill you will need to keep potions on you at all times.

As much as I miss my Subtlety spec, Combat/Outlaw is the most fun, even while leveling. When utilized properly, a good Outlaw has way more avoidance & mitigation than most non-pally classes.

I tested a little from 50-57 where my rogue is at the moment. Damage is very similar in leveling gear. The differences come down to luck with weapon drops and which spec has the higher iLvl weapons, but, when they are similar, Outlaw just takes less damage. All three are pretty squishy compared to most other classes. My mage is about the only one that was pretty close, but, mage shields have a higher uptime than evasion.

I’d just do the one you like. Spent last summer just enjoying leveling an assassin rogue. It took me way out of my comfort zone at first, and was frustrating for the usual first 20 levels; this was before level squish.

Yeah, have lots of potions and lots of fun!

For surviving encounters solo, I’ve seen plenty of people say assassination. Me personally, I find I am way tankier as outlaw while undergeared. So go with the spec that gels best for you.

That being said- outlaw has grappling hook, which can be pretty awesome if you don’t have flying. It can save you from a fall, or it can get you to treasures.
