First time playing horde in 19 years of WoW. This is what I've discovered

Severe imbalance in almost all aspects of the game.

Geography

Hordes main city of Ogrimmar is a safe 30 second walk to a conveniently located zeppelin which takes you to either the Undercity or STV which has a nice flight path in the center of STV. Meanwhile Stormwind has a tram to IF but to connect with Darnasus you need to spend 30 minutes death running to wetlands, then taking a boat to Darkshore then another boat or flight to darnasus which is located at the furthermost north end of Kalimdor. There is also no easy way for alliance to get to STV

Clearly blizzard recognized this imbalance cause in later expansions they placed a boat from SW to Darnasus which is obviously what should have been done here.

To the south of orgrimmar you have the crossroads. A horde hub conveniently located in the centre of the barrens. To the east of that, you have ratchet which will take you to Booty bay in south STV which will connect horde flightpaths from booty bay to the horde town in the centre of STV. To the South west of crossroads you have an easy 5 minute walk to thunderbluff. The city where you get the world buff. Alliance on the other hand have to travel to Darnasus. Why give horde the buff in thunderbluff instead of undercity?

Further south of crossroads you have Horde camp tuargo with a convenient flight path and repeatable 50% movement speed buff to get you to RFC, RFK or thousand needles in a jiffy

Alliance have no tram to STV. The closest flight path is darkshire. To get to booty bay you need to death run for approximately 20-30 minutes

At crossroads if you keep going south you’ll hit Freewind. A horde town located in the centre of thousands needles. meanwhile Alliance’s hub is located on the edge of feralas.

Ashenvale is a 1min minute flight from orgrimmar

Ashenvale is a 15minute journey from Stormwind (Tram to IF, flight to wetlands, boat to darkshore, flight to ashenvale)

The following dungeons are located in horde non contested areas and are within 5 minute walking distance

Ragefire chasm
Wailing Caverns
Shadowfang Keep
RFK
RFD
Scarlet monastery

Other Dungeons
Stockades is not accessible
Deadmines is 10 min run from STV

The following dungeons are located in Alliance non contested areas and are within 5 minute walking distance
Stockades
Deadmines

Other Dungeons
Ragefire chasm - Not accessible
Wailing Caverns - SW to bootybay, boat to ratchet, 5 minute walk from ratchet.
Shadowfang Keep - Flight to Southshore, 10min run from southshore
RFK - SW to bootybay, boat to ratchet, 10 minute walk from ratchet
RFD- SW to bootybay, boat to ratchet, 10 minute walk from ratchet
Scarlet monestary - Flight to western plaguelands, 15 min death run to SM

Quest Rewards
Horde have significantly better quest rewards.

Horde
Trinket from hinterlands horde quest
Warsong boots from ashenvale horde quest
Outlaw Sabre horde quest 1hand sword
Belt from ashenvale horde quest
Ring from BFD horde quest
Alliance
Leather tunic from Deadmines quest.

Racials

Horde racials

  • Orc 25% stun resist.
  • Orc Blood Fury - Pve DPS racial
  • Orc Axe weapon skill
  • Undead Will of Forsaken - Fear breaker
  • Troll Berserker - Pve dps racial

Alliance racials

  • Human sword/mace skill
  • Human spirit
  • Gnome root breaker
  • Dwarf stone form

World Buffs

Horde get every world buff including Rend’s head.
Alliance dont get a version of Rend’s head

City Layout
Thunderbluff has an AH, a mailbox, trade supplier, a blacksmith anvil, and a pond to fish in within 5 yards of each other and it gives the BFD world buff.

No alliance city comes close to this lay out. See Darnasus AH and it’s mailbox for example

I can go on and on but i’m tired and I’ve already written too much.

It honestly feels like alliance is hardmode. I am done with the frustration and difficulty of this faction and I’m so happy to be horde. I just wish I discovered this imbalance 19 years ago.

Lol, interesting considering Alliance zones and whatnot were all finished first.

Azshara is right next to Orgrimmar and is basically a purposeless zone.

Almost all Horde end up funneled into Barrens for leveling, it’s too good not to pass up.

At least you’ve got Redridge, Westfall, Loch Modan, and Darkshore. Changes in scenery should you desire it.

And also considering all the servers have the Alliance faction-locked and the Horde isn’t, I’m not even sure that’s true this time around.

Folks clearly aren’t as interested in playing Horde anymore.

SoD Paladin > SoD Shaman, at least in terms of damage.

Why should Undercity give a rats behind about what’s going on in Ashenvale?

Hahahahahaha.

Mind you, Horde have a port from Booty Bay that goes to right by the entrance of Gnomer.

And don’t you dare get killed near SFK by horde or else you have to run all the way back from SS as a ghost because we have no GY locations near there.

 glosses over every benefit Alliance get

ignores the rune placements but you arent wrong in some aspects that alliance face but have much more breathing room on choosing where to level and most horde are self competing to even level like for trisfal is a weird zone that has great exp grind to 10 but some of the hardest spots to farm like agamand hills or that you’re thrusted into silverpine which is a huge quest drought unless you’re 15 so you’re forced into barrens

Damn guys he found out that Horde is better in classic because you can get to the level 25 dungeons faster. The whole big lie everyone else was in on to fool Bladefall is now over.

It doesnt stop there.

Next phase the horde flight path is right next to Maradun and as someone mentioned there is a horde teleporter from BB right to gnomeregan

This is what alliance entitlement looks like. Absolutely no clue of all the advantages alliance has.

And yet, you post none

I know right, I wasn’t even lvl 10 on my Alliance Hunter and I was like “these quest rewards are so much better!!”

Imagine thinking that that’s some kind of imbalance while he’s bubbling with his windfury. Not to mention the ease of leveling as alliance since there’s so many more substantive gear reward quests especially for casters. Wands alone.

this + the rep racial are better than most of the other racials in the game currently and will be in the future cause most of the bis weapons throughout the game are swords and maces.

the axes in this game are few and far between and are less dmg even with the axe racial than the swords and maces.

pallies > shaman in almost anything but tanking currently btw.

As is the case when people bring up the Alliance/Horde favoritism topic. People going to omit the perks of their respective team and the topic accomplishes nothing.

Why is that alliance are full on every server? Because everyone knows how easy it is to break encounters with paladin buffs. Salv needed to be patched into shaman totems because it was so broken. Alliance have a much better leveling experience as well.

You talk about horde starting zone and yet EVERY single world record of unassisted 1-60 is done with alliance. The top 10 are all alliance for fastest leveling. Alliance have much better racials with +weapon skill. This literally breaks meters for alliance and makes humans the best choice for melee dps. Not to mention the 10% improved rep…

Alliance is easy mode and it is clearly been proven over time. Stop trolling. Horde is for the real gamers that enjoy being outnumbered, forgotten and challenged.

Alliance gets Elwynn Forest, Westall, Redridge Mountains, and Duskwood all geographically next to each other. What does Horde get? Silverpine Forest rofl… the crappiest zone to level in.

The Horde zones weren’t even finished when the original vanilla game came out.

That distance is pretty short compared to the distance between Undercity and STV.

LOL! Ok, so Horde have a slightly easier time with movement at lower levels. This definitely changes at higher levels.

As far as racials go, Horde’s tend to be better at PvP, while alliance is better for PvE. This isn’t a secret and has been well known for decades now. If you are just now discovering this you haven’t been playing wow for 19 years.

But even with all of what you just listed, there is one thing that completely negates your complaint. Paladins. This is my main but I also have a lv25 paladin that I raid with and I can say without a doubt that raiding on alliance is far and away easier. There are only 2 fights that are somewhat of a challenge and paladins make one easier, and completely break the other.

I’m going to go ahead and call troll though, Seriously doubt you actually play Horde.

Cry more! Lol

For the Horde!!

As a player of both I recall Horde being way better late game; just set your hearth to Orgrimmar (Middle of Kalimdor) with Zeppelins going to the very north and south of Eastern Kingdoms.
