Best ways to gear up?
Benethic gear is easy to get and its 385 with the option to boost. LFR drop 400 I think.
I like getting a few heartstone like Legion Dalaran. WoD garrsion and getting the ring for Northrend Dalaran.
I’ll have my alt send me my 385 gear.

Send your fresh 120 a full array of benthic gear outside of one non-azerite slot item (belt pants or boots) and one azerite slot item (one of the nazjatar intro quests will give the choice of an azerite slot item and another quest will let you pick from benthic belt pants or boots)
Do the nazjatar intro quest to get a 370 weapon
Do the magni quest to get your neck jumped to 35+ and open the first essence slot
Back to nazjatar for that free ilvl 385 azerite slot item and the free benthic and manapearls to upgrade it
after all that look at the world quests and emissaries for trinkets and rings.

People keep telling me to get benthic gear. I have my first 3 120’s who are at 370 ilvl from timewalking. I’m still doing random quests, and nobody’s trying to send me to Nazjatar. I don’t have any world quests unlocked. What are the steps I need to take to make progress on that?
Keep doing the War Campaign quests and they’ll send you there eventually. You’re probably going to have to pick a main, unless you just have an overwhelming amount of free time to progress three characters at once.

I was figuring on doing 1 alliance and 1 horde, and the other might get that done later.
You need to unlock world quests by talking to Nathanos I believe. Then either him or someone else on the boat should have a quest to send you to Nazjatar

FWIW boosts you are 390 with Heart level of 50. Benthic is 385, though you can get least 1 or 2 400 by farming the pearls in najatar.
Mythic dungeons drop 400 then keys though at low ilvl youll probably only be able to run 2-4 till you get bit more gear mostly because groups want the ilvl or io score. Linking your main if you have one helps then they least know you done runs.
Get world quests unlocked and do ones that give you upgrades. Check emissaries for worthwhile upgrades then do M0 and LFR. This should get you closer to ilvl 400 where you can then do low keys and try to get into normal raids. The rest is grinding from there. I find there’s a low period from say 410-425 that takes a bit to get over where no one wants you. Once you get to ~430 people will want you
Kill korrak in the seasonal event for a weapon. Then fly to alteric valley (not the bg) and buy 380 rings.
Who or where is the vendor for those?
The vendor for the AV items should be outside the entrance to AV which can be found in Hillsbrad/Alterac Mountains in the outside world. It should be near Tarren Mill
