I haven’t brought a dracthyr to the isles yet so I’m surprised you can’t soar as your dragon riding. Just, err, why not?
I’ve only just started the centaur zone and I’m level 67 so I think my mining may have overshot where I’m supposed to be in XP the rare deposits give almost the same experience as completing a quest!
Also: more race specific dialog (yes I got the special horsehoe you can buy from the farrier later on)

And these profession items are finally giving me some hats that fit my ridiculous head parts
I think it’s great. Went monk so I could dps or heal raids while collecting leather for my rogues. Windwalker levelling build is feeling fantastic. Fistweaving some normal/heroic bosses prior to SL’s end also felt amazing.
It just feels right to be out of hell and out into the world. They’ve done a good job with everything IMO. Questing is solid, RP/flavor on stuff is nicer than it has been, dungeons feeling good, all of it.
I wish I had more time this week but look forward to hitting 70 sometime this weekend, dipping into M0/M+ and some pvp.
Oh, was going to go Evoker but many guildies fell in love with the class so I’ve stepped aside and gone Forsaken monk, which rules.
I’m not expected a stellar overarching story but just the QoL stuff in terms of no borrowed power, no legendaries to chase or grind for, keeping the best of the Renown system but not making it horrible etc. are great.
We’ll still have some sick drops, including those in the journal listed as ‘very rare’ or whatever – and who knows? Maybe there will be a legendary drop or something later on.
It’s stuff like this that has really made Dragonflight really enjoyable for me.
For the first expansion in a while in WoW, where we’re not looking down the barrel of an invading army posing a cataclysmic threat; the only solution to which is to mobilize our own grand army with which to match on the enemy.
The first thing you do in the expansion is gather explorers, artisans, traders, and other experts. Even after you get to the Dragon Isles and start running into trouble, there seems to be a lot more focus on how people are interacting with the locals. How they’re helping rebuild. How people are learning from and trading with each other.
There’s also quite a bit of rewarding reasons to go off the beaten path. Yes, there’s a main story, but I’ve long since been distracted from all that and spent the past couple days just flying all around the Dragon Isles, exploring Valdrakken, collecting glyphs and treasure, and solving puzzles for some fun toys.
It’s also fun not to see the faction leaders as the focus anywhere. It’s allowed us to have a much more diverse cast of characters from the Horde/Alliance helping us out.
There’s fuschia coloured armour!! And it doesn’t look like a 5 y/o designed it! Everything has been drab or “i took mushrooms” in design and I’m so sick of it. So this has me excited! The armour is stil kinda meh, but fuschia!
Absolutely enjoying it. Feel like the expansion has a lot of care to it. Doesn’t feel like the same game as it has the last few years(in a good way). I even made a dracthyr even though I thought for sure I would dislike them.
lol on the quest where you are supposed to pluck feathers from the ducks I was just zugging out and mowing them down before I realized I was just so supposed to right click them
Running around on alts in F2P Mode, gotta say, I REALLY hate the new UI. I agree with the customization, but I didn’t think anything was wrong with the true Classic layout and wish there was a way, without add-ons, to switch back to it.
I was worried they would make dragon glyphs and customizations not account-wide from beta to live, but they ARE account-wide.
Nice to not have to climb the mountain in Thaldraszus multiple times for max riding.
OH that’s good to know!! I have 5 glyphs left to find on my main and I’m like, while this is fun I don’t want to have to do it all over again on my other characters.
