Pugged normal last night and tonight with a guild that was entry mythic geared. We smashed through the first 6 bosses Tuesday, then tonight Za’qul happened.
It honestly felt like I had joined a totally different raid. We must have wipe 8-9 times before downing him. And it honestly just felt terrible. Has anyone experienced this? It feels like the rest of the raid is 5s and 6s and Za’qul and Ashara are 11s.
Also I despise Asharas room. Anytime there are obstructions in the middle of a boss room it makes for a very jarring camera experience.
pretty sure it’s impossible to do with full pug. Need atleast powerful core that can do most important stuff and organize rest
This wasn’t a full pug. This was me pugging with a guild. That was communicating and geared.
That’s how the raids usually go…
The penultimate and final boss are the hardest…
And sometimes a third boss…
Nothing new here.
which basically means i will have to wait for LFR.
Oh wow 8-9 times? The feeling that you speak of is called progression, welcome to the club.

This raid was a huge breath of fresh air. Very enjoyable design, and engaging bosses. I had a lot of fun. They generally always do a good job on raids. It’s everything else that has suffered.

10/10 would watch people cross platforms with lights again.
Lose the snarky attitude. Especially since you can comprehend what I am saying.
I don’t mind challenging fights. I mind when every boss up to that point has been a one shot and all of a sudden it feels like everything is artificially inflated to create a barrier. Creates a pretty bad user experience.
Artificially inflated?
You mean designed to be more difficult?
Like all raids?
Don’t get so butthurt because it took you more then a one shot to get the hang of a bosses mechanics, and especially don’t get booty blasted when somebody calls you out on your irrelevant feelings on it.
I guess whoever designed bosses 1-6 didnt get the memo
The bosses in 1-6 had difficulty increases each boss, boss 7 is when it finally got to the point where the ready for mythic guilds gear couldn’t flat out carry beyond the mechanics anymore, and actually had to pay attention to something.
That’s where it hits, it got to the point you couldn’t blindly steamroll because of gear, and you cry at the first sign of needing to use a small percentage of your brain to down the boss.
Ashara Normal is a good fight, the rest of Normal my group 1 shot. Didn’t notice Zaqul being harder than the other bosses, Ashara was definitely a step up.
Heroic Zaqul is a pretty big DPS and healing check though. He is the first actual boss in the raid for Heroic IMO.

No one ever cried. I can see the logic in your argument, but to me that would mean that there would have been a wipe here or there on other bosses just because of errors.
Again you seem to think everyone is whining. I was literally giving my impression on the flow of the raid and asking if anyone else felt the same. And of coarse since this is the internet, was immediately attacked.
I enjoy a challenge, its why when i came back in Legion I set a goal to go AoTC every raid tier, and have.
Like I said before, it FELT bad to just immediately hit a wall on Za’qul. Did you have the same experience?

PUG killer. Every raid has them.
Oh no, 8 wipes. How dreadful. That must’ve taken, what, 30 whole minutes?
Dang it. I was hoping the last two bosses would also be easy as well.
We didn’t do Normal, but on Heroic the first boss is bizarrely difficult compared to basically everything before Za’qul. Radiance and Orgozoa were a complete joke, and Court seems to have no enrage or anything. Ashvane is going to be the Fetid of this raid.
Pugged normal with instructions given by players who did it day before and it was pretty easy. Got to Za’qul with not knowing how mechanics worked but could easily adapt. As for Azshara oh boy that was cluster duck and got to p4 with p3 still happening. A lot of things to work around and improve but that in my opinion makes a boss enjoyable.
