First Expansion Ever Without Skimpy Mogs?

None of these are skimpy.
Skimpy has an important connotation that you’re missing.
The tons of threads in the past do not have these in mind

I personally do not care, but yes, every other month a thread pops up asking for the older skimpy clothing.

I know you’re probably kidding, but I’d love the silly transmogs like they get in Overwatch.

If those aren’t enough skin, BfA also added the “hide shirt” transmog option and it doesn’t get any skimpier than that.

Kind of hard to argue that Blizzard is pushing a puritan agenda when you can now transmog your blood elf to raid in her bra.

I feel like Necrolord is the obvious choice for skimpy mogs. Here, have some bones to cover your bones. Bare bones transmog only!

Nah, they’re skimpy, they’re just not the over-the-top “I’m only wearing seashells” kind of skimpy. That first set has plenty of sideboob.

Chest armor doesn’t really protect you if it only covers your boobs.

That depends on how old you are…

Yes, great. For all of eternity from here on we only get one option. Thanks.

Blizz is not pushing a Puritan agenda. There’s a very obvious wave of anti sexualization happening in the gaming industry (and perhaps greater media but that’s for another topic). WoW was criticized a lot and was (falsely imo) accused of unrealistic sexualization for female gear. We literally have Metzen on record saying WoW will be moving away from it. This isn’t a conspiracy, it’s a fact.

They’re not.
Skimpy has a sexual/little clothing/revealing connotation. These outfits do not and do not fit the definition.

I remember seeing these threads as far back as WoD, with people bemoaning how the game would never have skimpy gear again now that the “feminism police” had got their hands on the game.

During WoD. You know, the expansion that released sets like this

Every single expansion, the sky is falling. Every expansion is the end of sexiness.

In reality, skimpy transmogs have always been a fairly small minority of WoW gear, but have consistently kept happening from time to time.

You can literally “hide” every piece of armor except pants…I would say that’s skimpy…that is not a puritan standard that you can run around with only pants on lol

No see, that doesn’t count because it’s only one option. Blizzard is scared of sexualizing their game, despite adding in new options to let us run around in our underwear, because reasons.

Give it time eventually they’ll bring it back.

Yeah that concept is slowly dying out the more people challenge it.

The best transmog is made by matching different sets of gear. Don’t be a coward, adopt some of the new gear into your slutmog, rather than wishing for a new set

That’s illogical. Skimpiness is gone and has been for awhile. Every expac is not “the end of skimpiness.” It’s already gone, Blizz is on record saying they’ll be gone, and there’s no good example since. And tbh Im fine with it, but don’t pretend that these examples are skimpy. I meant for goodness sakes were grasping for straws here if people are saying sideboob=skimpy.

It is if you listen to the GD forums lol.

I’d say the bootyshorts were skimpier, personally, but regardless they’re both skimpier than

It probably has a lot to do with Political Correctness, Cancel Culture and the fact that the Twitch crowd is more concerned with killing raid bosses than the artistic aesthetics of WoW.

Mate, if there’s cleavage and midriff visible, it’s considered at least a little skimpy. The word, by definition, infers that there isn’t enough substance to cover the entirety of what you’re trying to cover (ie, your torso).

Either way, I’ll go ahead and point out that the Void Elf and Nightborne heritage sets are also considered park of the BfA package (they were pushed to the 3.5 patch as a preorder bonus), and that the Alliance Darkshore cloth set is basically a partially-translucent bathing suit.

And even then, just one expansion before that, we got a class whose identity was literally tied to looking skimpy, to the point where nearly every chestpiece they equipped would turn into a bundle of torn straps, and whose big cooldown features them tearing off most of their clothes to go nuts.

I’m pretty sure the twitch crowd just doesn’t like people getting drops.
