Maybe you but so many people have been mentioning final fantasy that after a couple months of 9.1 I’m gonna drop my wow sub for a bit and try FF to see if it’s better or not.
Ok so first impression on FF14, I started off playing a lancer and the combat feels a bit slow. But if I’m comparing it to WoW leveling, it’s much better.
Large streamer’s bring a lot of viewership to a game, Asmon has 100% been good for the growth of WoW even in just being large streamer and solely promoting it.
First Bellular… then Asmongold… and now YOU!! If you streamers didn’t die so easily I might have a sense of satisfaction now.
I tell any new players this piece of crucial advice:
“Always behave as if the enemy has full health”
Works for raid bosses too
Lol I’ve tried to be constructive but people just give you crap when you try to correct them. So screw it unless your a guildi or someone I know you are just somebody in a instance
I dont think someone like Asmon, and even less so, Bellular playing or not playing wow is that big of a deal in and of itself, but them leaving for FF14 is a sign that wow isnt doing as great as it could.
Currently, WOW should focus on building a larger and more robust team with good ideas, rather than releasing new contents with bad, not adequately tested ideas and half finished contents.
Activision is making this difficult.
It doesn’t matter one way or the other actually.
I used to stream, and had risen to an average viewer count of 18. It’s no wonder that when I stopped streaming, everybody started leaving WoW. True Story.
Asmongold will not get banned in final fantasy, I can guarantee you that lol
Asmongold isn’t “toxic”, it’s his fanboi’s that are.
Oh goody, that kills even more of my lack of interest in FF14 and makes me want to get a restraining order to keep 100 miles away from that game.
I seriously dislike forced positivity and how non-genuine it feels. I rather the positivity come from an honest place and let it all happen naturally on it’s own, instead of being forced to conform what 1 person think what’s the right kind of positivity and dictate what can and can’t we be positive about. ![]()
And boiling this down to “You either toxic or nice” is just being disingenuous, considering it’s possible to be toxic and have a positive attitude, or toxic positivity if you will.
one is a rpg and the other one isnt
oh no, I absolutely respect the value of streamers and content creators as brand ambassadors… but them trying out a game doesn’t mean anything other than ‘they wanted to try a game’. And it’s silly to conflate it into more than that.
and maybe, just maybe the people who don’t want to discuss will stop clicking on obvious threads about ffxiv
It gets x100 better when you get ogcd skills and even faster then wow since your gonna be weaving skills in between gcds.
This is my exact sentiment. I’ve never watched his content, but I’ve heard stories of him basically using his popularity/following to troll and bully others. Don’t know if it’s true or not but if it is I hope he doesn’t stick around FFXIV for too long.
Whether in WoW or FFXIV no one should have their play experience ruined in that way. FFXIV tends to be stricter with moderation of that type of stuff in my experience so hopefully if he or his viewers are coming into the game with that sort of attitude it’s dealt with more decisively than in WoW.
This is sadly one of the biggest flaws of FFXIV. Especially if you’re used to WoW the longer GCD can make the base game of FFXIV feel mind numbingly slow. Some classes have it worse than other but unfortunately it’s just a less exciting portion of the game.
FFXIV has a lot more abilities/spells that are off the GCD compared to most of wow’s classes so a big portion of proper DPS rotations is effective use of your oGCD moves. As you level up you’ll get more of these abilities and the combat becomes much more exciting. By the time you get to max some are actually decently complicated such as Samurai.
The slow combat in the early leveling sadly (but understandably) turns off a lot of people curious about the game but if you can make it into higher levels the combat becomes more more exciting IMO.
Luckily FFXIV has made their free trial to include the entire base game A Realm Reborn (ARR) and the whole first expansion Heavensward (HW) which is levels 1-60. There’s no time limit so you can play through it at your leisure. ARR is honestly fairly “meh” experience. HW will be a much better representation of what to expect for the following xpacs and is a truer test of if you’ll enjoy the rest of the game or not.
Asmongold going to Final Fantasy 14 is the best news I have had since before the pandemic. Even if he only tries it for one day and doesn’t care for it that’s OK because this will bring so much attention to Final Fantasy 14 but it’s unreal. If there was a way to charge for streams this would be like a pay-per-view $100 million event.
Also it’s pretty funny that Square Enix Has now officially already had more communication with Asmongold than blizzard today when they tweeted to him “welcome to Eorzea”. I literally can’t wait for the stream. 150k viewers ez.
Not sure that’s exactly the right word. But, there is some degree of intimidation to get loot that someone else received. And people give him gold just to buy whatever he wants.
I feel like…I think someone said it above. On the outside, it feels very much like a cult.
A very badly behaved cult.
