Always exciting getting that first 6 slot, especially now that it will matter…but how long will it take?
Generally, for me it’s either 4 bags by level 6 or the more common alternative: Nothing until level 27.

Well there is that one quest reward fairly early on, or you can buy from bag vendor, but its an investment at that point.

If I don’t get drops, I will buy bags asap. The ROI on a rack of bags is large.

I was literally giving them away by level 11 on the stress test.
I gave someone a bag and they randomly gave me a green bow (I was a hunter)

One of the benefits to playing on a new server is that in the beginning, you can get bargains on the AH. This includes 8 slot bags for very cheap. Usually under 10s in the first few days.

Kill defias in the human starting zone until you get a few. You’ll get them fast, or you’ll make a few silver from selling things. You’ll need both.
If you’re lucky, you’ll get all your six slotters through random drops by the time you leave the starting zone. It happens sometimes. Sometimes it doesn’t.
I agree, unfortunately/fortunately its RNG, sometimes I get 4 bags before i get a couple levels, sometimes i get no bags in the starting areas at all its RNG!

I completely agree! I just HOPE igmos from retail dont put em up at the beginning for 100 gold each…as THAT AMOUNT OF GOLD DOES NOT EXIST ON A TOON AT THAT POINT!

they just wont sell, someone with a brain will put them up for the reasonable prices I promise you that!
Get to level 5 run and train tailoring, run back, tell /general, “bring me your 6 linen? I’ll make you a bag.”
People come running, you get points, train bigger bags,
start again with wool.

There was a discussion about bag drops in starter zones after the last stress test and I believe it was brought up that humanoid type mobs are your best bets for getting one to drop. So farm them and you should get some, and it shouldn’t take too long.

Good tips, especially about humanoids having higher drop rate. Very interesting.
I had two bags drop off kobolds in northshire in the last test. I’m sure when the game goes live I won’t have that luck. My pal is taking tailoring though, so take that RNG!
My daughter was playing around during the stress test and got two bags off one kobold. A red one and a black one. She was super excited. I was super jealous.

Like Renthelm says, I’ll buy a bag as soon as I get 5s. I’ll do that for all bags, if necessary.
If I get drops after that, they go to the AH.
Having the space so you don’t have to run back as often is worth it.
Getting bags early in the game is like getting epics at end game.
