I spent my entire life grinding out this Memory. It would not drop. After 3 days it finally drops and guess what…it’s just not proccing. At all. Once maybe every 100th fight. I’m so sad. This is supposed to be my favorite legendary, I was as hyped and amped about this as Felo’melorn. I finally get it and Pyromaniac procs more than this. And then when it does proc I have no clue it procc’d. No display characteristic or nothing. So I am staring at my buffs the whole time I’m in a fight. I was supposed to be soo happy right now.

Gratz on the drop, I will probably just not farm it now, hope that the drop rate on mythic+ is higher.
For the proc, it activates when Hot Streak is triggered, so you want to use your Fire Blasts charges just when your are finishing a fireball cast. This way, if it crits and procs Firestorm, you will not lose precious seconds of Firestorm.
I like to use addons like WeakAuras. You can configure visual effects on screen to show basically anything you want - like Firestorm procs. You can make it pop with any sound you want. Take a look at it.

Thank you. I think you are misunderstanding. I know how Firestorm works. It is not working “enough” is my point. It works once every 30years and then I don’t see it. As far as the proc, I notice it makes a high tinged sound when it procs…whenever it decides to do that. I guess ultimately for it to work it would need to be critting as much as possible, but I’ll have to run some myths and just see how it goes. I’m very unimpressed though. I have been running Pyromaniac all expan, and Pyromaniac’s 8% chance procs way more than this.
I see. The addon helps you with visual aid, I like to use it for controlling Fire Blasts charges too.
For the proc, the hint states it’s a 1.66~ procs per minute, so 3~ procs each 2 minutes. I have not the chance to test it yet, but is seems low indeed. Try to time it on target dummies, the internal proc cooldown should protect you from not having enough procs. It may need some tuning (the proc was lowered from 5 seconds to 4 seconds before release, so it may “work as intended” =[ ).

The tooltip warns you that the chance is low, and plenty of guides recommend fevered incantation over the long run because of its consistency.
Can’t say you weren’t warned.
There was a lot of “hype” toward mages legendaries in Beta.
I can tell you I am pretty dissapointed about the most popular Frost ones as well, Glacial Fragments and Slick Ice.
I believe Bliiz has simply drop the ball on mages.

Taking this from another thread. I use exactly three weakauras because I’m a gaming boomer. However, use the above as a firestorm weak aura and I promise you, you will have a blast
Its just as easy to pay attention to when it proccs
I’ve been having a lot of fun with firestorm. I find it procs an average of once per boss fight and once every couple of trash packs.
It is a low proc but always exciting and can proc off itself fairly consistently. Although fevered incantation is more consistent and has more upfront dmg during combustion, I always find that I catch up because of the procs.
I really recommend a weak auras for the proc. I also recommend making a stop caste/pyro macro so you don’t waste the proc during scorch execute.
Play what you feel is best for you.

If it makes you feel any better, I finally got my legendary to drop and I can barely see a difference in damage.
It certainly doesn’t feel legendary.
