To play yes. To watch no. Rogues are just one of the most fun specs to watch. They have a ton of solo carry potential and feel like they can win the game at any point. When rogue is the meta it’s honestly way more fun to watch tournament play. This season of awc has been one of the most enjoyable seasons for me to watch in a while. Games always had a chance of instantly being over.
It is, but depends on how the game pace is generally. If its super slow paced, RMX can be slightly more enjoyable to watch over damp comps. If its fast paced, I’d say melee cleaves are probably a bit more exciting to observe because caster cleaves will forcibly slow down the pace and RMX will either not be played as much or will be played stupidly (abusing one shot mechanics). If there is somewhat of a middle ground with the pacing though, that’s when I find RMX (sub version) to be very fun to watch just because most comps tend to be viable.
If its a TSG meta you’re after i can recommend WOTLK Classic.
No thanks to that also.
Rmp meta is fine, and preferred imo, when rogues and mages aren’t tanks. Un4ch rogues still are…
isnt wotlk thundercleave meta
I feel like you don’t know what the word “guarantee” means.
there is never going to be great comp diversity in AWC. Once a spec or comp is identified as being meta most teams will play it or some variation of it because they are playing for money.
Almost all of my complaints about what’s broken in this game is tied to how many defensives and “try again” cds certain specs have.
Rogue mage control and burst would not be nearly as crazy if their utility cds and defensives weren’t so potent, and numerous in a match.
Like if rog/mage were incredibly killable if they didn’t fully utilize their cc kits without any meaningful overlap, their ability to end games wouldn’t be as nuts.
Right now though, rogues with double step and low cds on sprint, vanish, new mega cloak, evasion, and cd reduction wrapped into some of those is absolutely nuts trying to get any momentum even if they just kidney/cheap things randomly and disarm your healer for no reason.
Tldr specs with built in punish protection are awful to play against.
Put double vanish on the same node as cd reduc vanish and sub would be balanced.
It’s the situation with multiple spell schools. It’s always been a thing but precog kind of solidified it. Clone → moon spells, poly → glacial/ray/fire spells. Especially when you put two of them together, there are more things to kick than you have kicks for. Obviously nothing is fully “guaranteed”, so like I guess you can take issue with that word if you want. But the point is that casting is not the insurmountable feat that it has been in the past. The tools now exist to properly get casted damage off.
This is a fair statement.
the year is 2030, awc is airing to 211 people, it’s rmx vs rmx, swifty is shoutcasting from a hospital bed in a retirement home
“yes! yes! triple blink db ring into the mass grolymorph!!! biebz & friends will be this years AWC champions yet again!!!”
arena forums thread “most boring awc ever” pops up
the cycle continues yet again
Shimmer needs to not be usable with DPS abilities. Shimmer with ray and spike is busted. Starting ray and then blinking LOS… dumb.
Also, way too many damn buffs these days.
This is a result of inadequate balancing and poor class design in most cases.
I only ever watch AWC if RMP is good. Melee & caster cleaves are the most boring thing in the world to watch. If they were serious about the arena they would only make melee caster healers queable and ban cleaves completely.
