I hate RoP - love that Incanter’s is passive. I’ve simmed both specs and they are close but in reality for pve content, is going Incanter’s Flow over RoP viable?
Pretty sure the general consensus is that IF is fine for Frost and Fire. I think the arcane default is still RoP though (but IF isn’t that much of a dps loss if you want to run it).
I hate RoP. Haven’t touched it since I was an arcane mage in Nighthold.
You should get the lucid dream first if you haven’t already. And try simming while using it in the major slot. Lucid dream major power have good synergies with both combustion and rune of power. Which should push rune of power above Incanter’s flow for quite a bit.
Yeah I saw that but it’s the amount of movement in Eternal Palace that makes me think I would get irritated with RoP like I did before.
The only reason I used it in Nighthold as an Arcane Mage was because it went incredibly well with the tier set that buffed missiles. Three missile stacks, throw down a RoP, top the meters.
Man, I miss Legion Arcane. Muy mucho.
I refuse to run ROP. I hate it that much. I’ll happily take lower damage to avoid having to use it.
RoP is a near must for fire.
A large chunk of our dmg comes from burst windows.
RoP every meteor(or pyroclasm if running that), every combustion/lucid window, and never cap.
You are still allowed mobility with RoP. It just limits it. It has an 8 yard range i think.
Like a dog on a leash, you could still run out of puddles or avoid icicle/green bolts in RoP. It is trickier, I agree, but very much do-able. Knowing the fight enough to know when you shouldnt cast RoP is also needed info. For instance, dont cast RoP right before you need to LoS Azshara or its a wasted RoP.
I have an addon TellMeWhen that makes it easy to track if i have the RoP buff while running.
