Fire mages and delves

fire mages alright in delve soloing? Are they still a visual fun but no actual damage to the pew pew?

I’m able to solo them now at ilevel 621, but i have to take my time and wait for all cooldowns. I only play fire , and it can get rough at times. Soloing Zekvir was the hardest challenge imo for a mage compared to other classes.

good to know, as a destro warlock I was soloing 8s at like 562.

I was soloing D8’s at 600 with Brann as a healer. If you use your CD’s and space out the healing potions from Brann it’s doable. But with how much work goes into it compared to some of the other classes I’ve done it on, idk if I’d call it easy.

It’s doable, but you’d probably have an easier time as Frost or Arcane.

This is the one place where Frostfire seems to win out over Sunfury, because the spec has a more consistent DPS uptime and better survivability options. That is to say, I never had problems with it and now I honestly find my Fire Mage to be the best for ? Zekvir / T8 Delves (this was ilvl 610ish). If you haven’t set a spec up specifically for Delves, do so. Personal survivability is kind and mages actually have a ton that you don’t necessarily take for mythics/raid.

I’ve been soloing delves since release as fire, and never had any complaints. At low ilvls i had to wait for cds a lot, use health potions, and kite/ los hoping bran will proc earthmother when i was close to dying. At ilvl 621 now and tier 8s are a breeze.

At 613 now but solo’d T8s at ~600. Make sure Brann is healer, don’t forget to pick up his potions, keep Ice Cold on hotkey and learn to use all the gimmicks: Alter Time is your friend. Mirror Image + Mass Barrier for some solid decoys, blast wave & dragon’s breath for stopping power & distance, shifting power on rotation to reduce your cooldowns, and greater invis as a last resort. Delves are a blast.

My 607 frost mage MAULS T8 at this point. Having level 60 Brann as healer helps immensely.
