Fire mage has tank damage rn they wont be good until they fix them
Literally needs like « 50% damage increase to pyroblast, 100% damage increase to scorch, fireball and fire blast »
Then it would be mid tier >.<
Fire mage desperately needs living bomb back at a higher percentage 4% is terrible
Posted with the wrong character, but what I mean to say I don’t think this will be enough. Living Bomb still only has a 4% chance to proc and it’s damage is pitiful, your auto attack, as a mage hit’s almost as hard as Living Bomb currently hits at. Fire mage is dead again, and it’s sad.
The proc chance isn’t awful if fully talented for it - believe this was pretty much needed to deal with the game performance issues caused by all the procs - problem is that the damage was initially increased to offset the reduction in procs but then subsequently nerfed into the ground without recompense, to the point where even 30% of a such a low current base number just isn’t enough.
It’s hard for me to see a clean way out of this given the number of talents around / Frostfire interactions with LB. If it’s nudged a bit too high then we now have two decent sources of AoE that can be passively spread via priority damage, when having just one was enough to lock Fire into top keys. But if it’s kept too low then you now have 8 dead talents and an underperforming hero tree. Just seems like an unnecessarily tight line that’s going to be a whack-a-mole of tuning as we get better gear.
Really wish we’d never gone down the LB route to begin with.
I don’t know how I feel coming back to the game after months just to see that fire mage is still @ss. Jeez.
There’s a moderately strong pure AoE FF flame strike/meteor/living bomb build we can go down into. It pads on trash in heroics and will probably continue to do so in lower m+ keys. Against a boss or a single target it’s so abysmally bad. If you just want competitive overall damage on the meters for low end content the AOE build isn’t bad.
I said it once, I’ll say it again. “You’ve been good before” is just a dumb take. Get outta here with that room temp IQ bs.
Some spec has to be on the bottom. Why not Fire for the first time since MC/BWL?
Being at the bottom is fine. Doing literally tank damage is a little different. If you aren’t in Combustion you might as well take your hands off the keyboard, and even then, you’re doing the low end of average to middling DPS.
Call me old fashioned, but I think the class/spec determining if you can beat the tank in single target damage is a little bit more of a problem than who’s “on the bottom”. I’ve played ‘bad’ class/specs before and preformed just fine; as long as the spec is still fun and not drastically below others it’s not really an issue if you’re a decent player. Fire is not in that state right now.
Same here. I actually enjoy the challenge of being an underdog spec. But after really trying to make the current state of Fire work— it really is irredeemable.
I have been doing fire. It’s def tank damage unless combustion is up. When combustion is up just do ST on trash and you won’t look completely useless.
I also only look mediocre on bosses, but that’s because my husband plays arcane and he just melts the boss so it helps me look better by reducing the time of the boss fight to like 17 seconds or 20.
Assuming the third dps isn’t as incompetent as fire is bad.
Sure as heck needs a buff though.
I never played Frost until like 2 days ago and could immediately double my Fire output.
I’ve been playing fire lately both specs Right side Frostfire and Left side Sunfury and to my surprise they’ve been doing better but only and only if you play with unleashed inferno, specially Sunfury, Hyperthermia has been proccing a lot more so it has made it feel much better than before, can get up to 3 or 4 procs in less than 30 seconds so it has made it bearable.
Its over boy no tuning will ever be done on fire mage
Season is starting
