so I was looking through raider io and looked at the top mages and they are all gearing up for versatility instead of haste.
Now my theory is that they want more survivability in mythic+ but this is my guess.
Is there any other reason to gear for versatility other than the aforementioned survivability ?

People tend to run whatever sims highest for their chosen encounter/mob count. You want both Haste and Vers, but there’s no specific amount of Haste/Vers you should aim for. Sim yourself with Raidbots TopGear, and don’t use any hectic or movement sims.
