Fire Mage M+ Usage
Fire Mage Help
As well as Preheet videos and other youtube sources, the one thing I am not wrapping my head around is the out of combustion rotation for AoE found in M+.
Seemingly conflicting, I notice some say to just single target rotation the priority and let the ignite spread do your AoE for you.
What I have been doing (and if this needs correcting, by all means let me know):
- RoP
- Meteor + Weapon on-use (they line up perfectly for big int boost)
- Living Bomb if 5+ targets
- 2 FB
- Flamestrike (I do NOT rune flame patch, too much tank movement)
- Dragon’s Breath (because rune would be ending by this point)
- Living Bomb again
- 2 FB again
- Flamestrike
- Fireballs + FB until instacast flame strikes proc and repeat LB/RoP+Meteor
From all of the deep-diving, it seems that as motivated as that “AoE burst” would be, it is not even remotely what should be done. Instead I see tells of just doing the single-target rotation, and letting the ignite carry the AoE.
I do excellent boss damage because of combustion (65-90k w/o Mech bracers yet, which will definitely soar me), I just feel weird using combustion for trash AoE (which I think comes down to experience to know when I can and have it back in time for bosses).
Rambling rant aside, what do you guys do for keeping up in the AoE department or is Fire Mage not really brought for the AoE potential
Thanks!
(EDIT: The +15’s were definitely carries trying for those bracers both in the run and from the chest lol)
