So yeah… great job on the fire mage buff making combust not dispellable. Meanwhile they still just do negligible damage.
I don’t understand how the devs can’t see how dog water some of these classes are in comparison.
Pyroblast literally hits like a wet noodle. I’ve tried every talent build for fire mage and no matter what I get out damaged in BGs by people with literally 100k less hp than me due to ilvl difference.
Fire and frost need some major buffs, I don’t even main mage but I decided to play one this expac as I played fire in the past and it’s a fun play style but it’s almost unbearable. Fireball literally does more damage than pyro even with greater pyro PvP talent. It’s laughable. Mages have no heal like 9/10 of the other classes do and ALSO do no damage so what’s the point of them? You can just play a resto warlock and do 10 mill damage as well as 10 mill healing in a BG. Even when popping your major cool downs you can’t reliably burst anyone down during that small window. Please fix this class/spec. Thanks

Yeah this damage looks like you can just walk right through it: https://youtu.be/051lS0tLGEg?t=36
Also thinking BG overall damage is representative of anything is wild. Warlocks have good spread but their DoTs aren’t taking someone from 50% health with shields to 0 in 3 seconds flat.
Congrats, now you understand why you deal more damage with AOE/Spread than with ST.

It’s not that much damage considering what some other classes can do. But combustion isn’t a cooldown you’re safe to ignore. That warlock played it rather poorly. They should’ve known combustion was off cooldown and played a bit safer.
I’ve seen him working 100-0 just a fast as that Warlock. Then again, Warlock XD
I get giddy when I see this stuff because it needs the right setup and it’s not doable every fight. I’m fine with stuff like this since you’re relying on everything up to go which is rare.
I’ve watched just about every class and their stupid burst combos but there’s a few players that tried to get these setup in Arenas and it’s difficult. You’ve got to watch their CDs and make sure yours line up, even top players have difficulty which is why you rarely see this stuff and when you do, it’s usually at the onset of a new combo and within a week everyone is looking to lock down when they see the setup.
Fire just looks so fun to play, though!
I’m not sure I would prefer a game without trick and hard to pull off setups.
Like take SPriest. Catharsis can hit but if you play into Desperate Prayer that raises your max health you can increase Catharsis’ damage. They problem is obviously losing a good emergency heal and you need to take boatloads of damage so you need to play it fast and loose. Still fun to see, though. Requires points most people don’t take and just for a one-off trick you can barely use doesn’t seem worth it.
I have no problem with Mages doing this unless they can do it every 10s XD

I got styled on hard by a fire mage the other night in EotS. I still don’t understand what happened but I was grinning ear to ear every time I fought him. Fighting a mage who knows what they’re doing is like picking a fight with Bruce Lee at a bar – you just see this diminutive fellow in a billowy shirt and make a very wrong assumption.

Arcane is the spec right now, just the way it goes.
All the destro players are doing even less damage than fire and they have to hard cast. Nobody cares because other specs are strong and dark pact avoids nerfs like sub rogue has since games inception.
Time to hop on that 100k arcane barrage bandwagon.
Oh dude Fire is absolutely fantastic to watch. They did good with the visual experience for sure.
For me the top 3 would be Demo, Fire and Fury. All 3 of those specs just make it look like a bunch of madmen absolutely popping off it’s so good.
Very fast, very bursty and visually awesome to watch.
