So I’ve been leveling a mage to go fire to have some fun slapping people around. With the conduit nerf/triune nerf is fire still the way to go?
Been battling with ELE sham or fire mage probably will level both anyway but has anyone pvp after the nerf? does it feel bad?
ele sham is for sure a solid choice but imo mage is still in a better spot for arena just because of our well rounded kit. I don’t know if you watched the AWC but mage was really over represented esp in the finals we got off really easy with the nerfs this patch I was worried blizz might gut the spec like they did MM and Sub because of all the whining on the arena forums

good to know, now! one more question… do i have to be night fae? or is kyrain good as well in a pvp scenario
Kyrian and venthyr are both okay. Night Fae is just considered the best due to the CD reduction. Mage playstyle in arena revolves around getting combust back ASAP so you can set up w/- polly and burst. Mage damage outside of combust tickles the enemy team.
Mitchjones (r1 mage) plays Kyrian. A few r1 mages play Venthyr & most fire mages play Night Fey. A bunch might swap to Venthyr on 30 Renown though, as the kick and CC reduction is pretty big.
As someone who just switched from venthyr after waiting it out to get 2 potency slots, night fae is better in almost every way. The only thing I miss is animation bugging door of shadows for free sheeps. The CD reduction is so good for barrier, kicks, blinks, blast charges, literally everything.
I was hoping frost would feel better after a buff, but praying for brain freeze procs got old really fast. People never expect the huge flurry into Ray of frost damage. That was the only fun thing about it.
