Cast frost bolt. Is this intended? Do all mirror images just spam frost?
Mirror images is heavily about defense now (20% damage reduction while active), so it makes sense that they cast frostbolt to slow movement speed. When I run simulations, mirror images do less than 1% of the total DPS, so it doesn’t really matter damage-wise. As far as being used to trick enemies, In PVE, enemies get tricked regardless, and in PVP, this isn’t tricking anyone even if they did cast fireball.
when you say 20% damage reduction, do you mean they do 20% less damage than you do? Or do I do 20% less damage for the duration?
While any images are up you take 20% reduced damage from all sources; they also seem to “taunt” mobs when cast but only last a few hits each.
My “mirror images” cast frost bolt. This was the case when I was spec’d fire or arcane.
As to how long they last… well each time the mage takes direct damage, one of the images will disappear, prior to the duration expiring.
Mirror Images is now a defensive cooldown, not an offensive cooldown like it was once upon a time.
