It’s very unfun. Idk what really changed between now and shadowlands, but I actually had 1000x more fun as Sinful Brand DH in PvP than I do now.
Also annihilate/CS just felt more impactful overall back then.

Ya then it got buffed the last pass but it still wasn’t all that great, not worth dropping standard for it atleast. For what? To menace pet specs? Your giving up tinder fireball for it and a few other big things.
This tuning pass made it strong enough to give up a bunch of stuff to run it basically if your hitting 2 or more targets consistently. Single target you’d still play standard.
Your giving up controlled destruction, hyperthermia, execute scorch and tinder to pick all that up. Thats why last patch it wasnt significant enough to dump everything to run it even in a 2+ target situation.
there also isn’t enough people with a desire to play fire mage in current season to really see it all that much.
May have to play boomy/firemage/discpriest. That looks super fun!

Imagine expecting to find a fire mage wanting to press polymorph in this meta.
Mage is gonna be at 55 yards expecting you to W key clone.
Polymorph is for chumps! Just lob damage while I rotate between bear and raptor form!
Unless the ret paladin is pressing wings, then it’s okay to sheep him and steal his freedom. Not because it stops him from doing damage, just so he can come to the forums mad about it.

I agree. Also feels healthier for the game then the other options because it has clear counter play that also punishes people for not respecting it properly. Plus who didn’t like using meta into a group of people to brand them all?
Baiting dispel with regular application and then meta’ing in on the melee cleave (or demo lock pets) and just ruining them + making them do negative dam was hilariously fun.
