Fire mage is perfectly balanced

Yea their burst needs significant nerfs.

Of course Gypro and shimmer need removed but the problem runs deeper. Fire mage needs a flat 10% dmg nerf then probably a 20% meteor nerf in PvP.

Because 25k meteor when the stars align perfectly is too much, meteor was already nerfed. You stack it and it legit hits for like 3k

You’re calling for nerfs when the paladin deserved that due to positioning, not knowing when the oneshot is comming, team in Africa not peeling anything

It’s not like certain classes are hitting for 70k instant… nerf the 45k 4 second cast, when a fire mage has one school tondeal damaage.

Stop calling for nerf due to teams failing at counter play

Easiest ability to get off in game. You can do it with no hands tongue tapping the keyboard.

A team shouldn’t have to counter play 1 shot over tuned gimmicks. Just stop. They need to not be in the game. How about we make the game less about cheesy gimmicks so these keyboard turning face rollers don’t burden us throughout all aspects of PvP.

Scrap greater pyro completely. Gut meteor and rebalance the class around mobility (scorch, pyro procs etc) instead. Right now it’s just juggling arcane/frost schools dropping sheeps and rings, shimmering twice to gpyro.

It’s not hard, it’s not rewarding and it’s bad for pvp.

Someone with some common sense. Fire Mage is the most brainless gimmick in the game. Make it about skill and give it some engaging abilities.

Only way Mage will be interesting again is if things like Shimmer and Gpyro get removed.

That info about meteor is ridiculous. If you move out of the AoE it should definitely not hit you.

You guys wants nerds, instead of counter play… when I’m playing other toons, Fire mages are not a problem at all… stack the opener, purge combust… it just seems I’m the problem when I’m on my mage and oneshot someone in the middle of the arena lining his healer, not popping a defensive for my opener rotation

I love queueing into fire mages because I know how they work, and how to beat them, I also have no problem with a nerf, it’s the damn 30% numbers being thrown out there, if a nerf that severe hits, an entire rebalancing needs to happen… and blizzard isn’t fast with that, look at arcane, and how stupid clunky frost feels

In reality this spec needs some adjustments. I’ve never tried to play Mage in arena, or at least not since MoP.

That amount of damage is unreal, I literally peaked at 45.1k dps going through a paladin’s wall.

I don’t think it’s a simple fix, it’s not just greater pyro, Sam plays without it at 3300+, lots of high damage instants make combust horrifying.

I will say, fire is incredibly fun to mess with. I enjoy the spec a lot

Translation: I don’t actually know what I’m talking about but I’m really worried fire might get nerfed, the season is going to last till january so I need all the time I can get to get my first 2400 Glad as fire assas, I don’t think I can do it with the comp being nerfed.

He did use a defensive though, he used his wall and had Azerite shield up. I just don’t care about those things LOL.

Maybe take the response and actually read it… I’m an advocate for counter play… ever lose a match and feel like “wow that was sick, they got me”

That’s how it should feel, granted yes an entire oneshot isn’t right, but huge nerfs OBVIOUSLY make classes unplayable, we’ve seen this multiple times already

Work on “tuning” not “gutting”
Which is what you are asking for

In this video, the oneshot shouldn’t have happened, but bubble should be achieved, everything was perfectly set up for that

@Phen I think I just realized a bug. My greater hit him for 46,000 through wall (usually reduces damage of gpie) and through frag. He had 115k hp with frag up which should make gpie hit for 37~ and then wall should take 20% off that, to make it 30~k

No one wants to play a disgusting broken spec we want it fixed instead lol. Not everyone is into free rating by being dumb and head banging the keyboard. PvP participation will just continue to go down as this becomes a dead expansion and ppl cancel subs everyday. Fix it instead. Yes I am one of those that cancelled my Sub and it runs out just before 8.1 drops.

3’s is the least played bracket in the game. Despite that Fire Mage is running around 1 shotting stuff and you are like just counter. Next lets look at Fire Mage in RBGs, Warmode etc. Sorry but PvP needs to be balanced around “ALL” aspects of PvP.

You think it’s cool for 1 player to one shot the FC in Rated BGs just GTFO lol. That is completely stupid. You are just defending it because of how broken it is. No one can justify Shimmer or Gpyro being in the game. You just want to poly ppl in Warmode and 100-0 them and giggle all day. We get it you like completely broken things.

Which is super dumb. Defensives up should mean you do less than 30% of their HP. So can we just fix this. If Defensives don’t stop a Go then what is even the point.
