I’m curious if any Fire Mages use this spell in their build? It seems like most if not all cookie cutters ignore this spell entirely and I think I have a fair understanding why but any more experienced Mage players wanna explain?
It is a very poor damage option for the effort to press. Which is ok.
You get significantly more value from the other activated ability options in the same row, especially shifting power.
Yeah I figured as much. I was just curious. Here’s to hoping they buff it slightly so I can justify using it!
It’s getting moved to Fire tree and buffed along with other supporting talents in 10.1.5.
As stated above the reason none of the 3 specs currently take it is it just doesn’t do enough to warrant the talent or the bind frankly.
I don’t mind it toooo much. It doesn’t activate or consume hot streak so if you find yourself wanting to talent into it can work if you throw it into your combustion window/rune of power. Not worthy using otherwise.
Meteor is so…pathetic. It doesn’t feel like a meteor. It feels like a bebble.
It needs to do good damage, knock players up, and create a fire zone.
I use it because I think it looks cool. It’s not meta, but that doesn’t matter to me.
From what I understand, the whole class has become wrapped up in a game design of cooldown uptime where you’re only worthwhile when you’re bursting. Temporal Warp and Shifting Power enhance this, but Meteor doesn’t, so it was left behind.
