With the upcoming change to Elemental shamans t12 set a larger portion of the damage will be coming from Fire Elemental than now. Blizzard has previously acknowledge that shaman’s should be able to retarget their elemental by attempting a hotfix on June 21st, 2024. Unfortunately this change was not actually/properly implemented so the Fire elemental will randomly attack non bosses, even in boss encounters. The failure of the hotfix has been acknowledged by Zirene on X but there has been no change in the 4 months since.
