Fire Blast double cast

I press the button ONCE and it casts twice in a row.
Anyone else having this issue?
Anyone know how to fix it?

I hate that this is making me waste charges.

It’s possible that your keyboard may be doubling that specific key sometimes. Or perhaps your hands randomly jolt sometimes.

I know that it’s one of the reasons why I can’t play fire because I sometimes mistakenly press a key twice without wanting to.

You could test another keybind. Maybe it’s just your keyboard acting up.

It’s definitely not my keyboard or me. I’m not mashing the button I am very deliberately pressing it Once and once only.

In that case, you should try to post this in the bug report section of the forums. They do usually answer pretty quickly.

Is it possible that the spell is somehow set to cast on both key-press and key-up?

I couldn’t tell you where to find those settings, but it’s at least one potential problem that you can eliminate.

That was my first thought as well. I used to do it a lot back in yonder days with an Ice Block macro. Somewhere in the settings (if it’s still there) there was an option for something like “Action on Key Press” or “Action on key release”. If it’s not within WoW it might be somewhere in your system keyboard settings. Unfortunately I don’t think you can set it for individual keys (unless there’s an addon?) so changing those settings might have flow-on effects.

You also might have altered your spellqueue window.

/dump GetCVar("SpellQueueWindow ")

It should be 400 as thats the default.

Here try again, idk why it italicized in the prior comment, its not supposed to be. That could be the problem as its copying the asterisks.

Never gotten empty value so my guess is that was the problem.

Will help the problem of double clicking FB accidently but it won’t fix it 100%, you’ll have to slightly change your muscle memory but it’s better than nothing.

Had the same issue, i disabled the new expansion feature ‘Press and Hold Casting’ under Combat options and it immediately stopped the problem of occasionally double casting fireblast and shimmer.

I have fire blast bound to mouse wheel and was always having this problem. This macro should fix it.

Necroing this spec, i have the same issue 2-3 years later and the bug still exists… The issue is press and hold casting setting triggers fire blast twice… its bugged still. Has nothing to do with keyboard\keys.

Happens if you bind fire blast to mwheel too… identical problem with vengeful retreat double backflip on DH…

THIS. I wasn’t even aware of the option. I’ve noticed shimmer doubling. I’ve also seen a lot of casts failing to go off possibly due to increased GCD because I can’t find haste anywhere.
