I have purchased War within but have not finished the story line with Dragon flight.
I really want to do that before starting the next expansion. Please give me an idea how to do that. Thanks

The short and simple answer is to ignore the quest for The War Within for now, and just keep following the quests for Dragonflight through the zones. There is no problem with that.
Have you lost the quest chain somewhere? Just look for the exclamation mark with a brown shield around it.
Has Chromie summoned you back to Stormwind? Just go to the Portal Room upstairs in the Mage Tower and take the portal back to Valdrakken.
If you are lost about any of this, What is the character and the realm you are doing Dragonflight on, so that we can look up what quests you have done.
