I’ve been playing some hunter and was finding it somewhat fun to find and collect new pets, though I wish there was a little bit more to it than clicking a button oh my hot bar. I kind of wish Warlocks needed to go out into the world and similar find some demon to ensnare.
What do you all think?
I think they’d then be just like Hunters.
Hunters are a Pet class, whereas Warlock have Pets. Different bend to it.
Locks have been wanting this since forever.
Sadly it’s against Blizzards no fun policy.
There used to be quests to get the few demons that there are… I wish there was a variety like hunters have
I think both Warlocks and Shamans should tame their pets. It’s in their lore and they can make it this big one on one mini game of you vs. the Demon/elemental.
so you’re telling me the only difference between warlocks and hunters right now is that one gets to tame their pets while the other is just given them?
Or that Warlocks have to go around collecting reagents for a ritual that will let them summon some differently skinned demon.
New pets should be attached to epic questlines that require the warlock to participate in scaled content. You would gather the correct items, conduct a ritual and then jump through a rift to fight / enslave a demon on the other side. Once you have subdued it, you now have a new demon.
And if someone wants that demon, with its abilities? Well they need to do the quest. I don’t think everyone should be entitled to have the things they want just because its a part of the class. Each class should have abilities that are earned.
Hunters have pets, warlocks do not, they have minions.
Hunters tame non-sentient creatures in the world and become friends with them. Hence the term “pet”.
Warlocks summon demons from their home worlds and binds them to service.
Those demons are sentient creatures who have their own lives on their own home worlds, until some warlock in this world “yanks” them away to serve the warlock.
Therefore you should have quite a larger number of minions to summon (let’s just call them that way for your mental sanity), but we have neither way of doing it, we have just a few, pre-10yearsago-stablished pets.

I still think it would be cool if there was some sort of demon cosmetic mini game that required warlocks to go out into the world and ensnare various types of demons which they can then summon in the future.
or maybe something more like a quest line that could be completed that would result in a demonic pact that resulted in a glyph or glyph recepie that could be applied to change the appearance of the warlocks demons.
Woudn’t it be cool to change the Voidwalker into a Felwalker?
