Finding a game you’ve been playing for a month more enjoyable than one you’ve been playing for 15 years doesn’t mean anything. I can guarantee almost everyone preaching the praises of FFXIV right now, and how WoW is dead, will no longer be playing FF in a year.
So enjoy a game thats fresh for you while you can, because once the “newness” wears off, youll start to see all the faults and problems with the game, just like you do with WoW.
Been playing WoW since day 1 and I’ve been playing ARR (didn’t play 1.0) since day 1.
I must be an outlier or something.
I will complain about both for as long as I play both. I have two hands to shake two brooms with.
How people get through how terrible ARR is I will never know. Guess I’ll never see the great story everyone is talking about.
I’m not a fan of waking up at my computer.
Nor can I get past FXAA being the only antialiasing in this game. Game looks like garbage.
I have a dumb question: what’s ARR and FXAA?
FXAA is a anti-aliasing graphical setting that smooths out edged. ARR stand for A Realm Reborn, i assume.

Without WoWs anti-aliasing, how would I be able to see the smoothness of a characters bald head after putting on a hat because their hair magically vanished?
Nope, in FFXIV the game keeps getting better as you advance the expasions, so someone enjoying ARR will love it on heavensward and will be singing praises later on shadowbringers.
Unless FFXIV has a playable pirate race…

No there isn’t anything wrong with playing or liking another game. Lets be honest though, most of the people starting threads about it are just wanting to troll GD.

I was with the premise of your subject line… the idea that people playing ffxiv doesn’t mean wow is dying is a good one…
but you lost credibility when you starting trying to go just as ridiculously in the opposite direction. The group saying WoW is dead is wrong, the group saying FFXIV sucks is wrong.
Both games are good and have their own audiences.
I never said FF sucked. Just that most new players jumping into it wont still be playing it a year from now. Thats the truth with any game.
He isn’t really wrong though. I can easily point out the flaws in both games because I’ve been playing both for so long. A lot of the people on the forums might be genuine in that they think FF is the better game but a lot of them that are seemingly trying to cause drama will probably never get past ARR.
Well whattaya know. I might have to check it out now!
