Finding Broken Tooth

Does he even exists? I have searched for him for hours and hours over many days. Looking in the spots that are listed on WoW head and I have never seen him. Can some hunter how has tamed him let me know how long it took. Give me some hope that I’m not just wasting my time.

Thanks.

Signed: disheartened hunter

I camped Mist Howler for an entire weekend, using a Horde and Alliance character to cover more ground. Was probably a waste of time; Mist Howler ended up spawning within an hour of the weekly Tuesday maintenance. I’m sure that wasn’t a coincidence.

Wasnt BT normalized by 1.12?

His dps was, but his attack speed is still 1.0

He hits fast but not hard.

His best use is for spell pushback.

Duelers love him.

Yes, I did it at 37, which is the ideal level.

You’re 38, close enough.

This…

Stop levelling your hunter right now.

Read fully the wowhead link.

Sit at the exact spot mentioned.
Use Long distance vision
Look at each of 3 possible spawn points.
Log out if no good.

Repeat this process until you have success.

This is what will get you Broken Tooth.

It may take a couple of days (real time), and multiple/many checks to get him.

Edit… when you DO get him, after following my instructions, please DO post back with your success, so the next guy will have hope too

I’m not sure if this will give you hope or just feel worse, but I found him in about 30 seconds of starting to quest in the Badlands. He’ll show eventually.

Someone on my server found him the other day, a level 39 hunter I quested with a week before when he was level 27. I was happy for him and it felt like a Vanilla experience.

theres no real reason to get BT anymore with zg bats out.

if you’re not having luck i wouldn’t waste your time.

think a lvl 38ish hunter would have issues with trying to tame something in ZG… if he was 60 or near 60 then yes getting a zg bat would be better.

umm…thanks yes thanks for clarifying the blatantly obvious sherlock

point was: you dont need BT for the attack speed anymore. you can easily use another cat. the 1.0 atk spd makes zero difference unless you’re trying to min/max spell pushback. there are many easy 1.2 options.

and if you really do want a 1.0 atk speed option, you can get a bat when you’re 60.

Getting BT and two other fast atk speed rare spawns has been a nice perk for being on a low pop “dead” realm

Just get a zg bat

It certainly exists, i tamed one on Whitemane a while back ( i tamed it at 60 though, because lvl 60 ally hunters camping him don’t like competition). It has very long spawn time and every respectable hunter on both factions wants it, so if it’s up it doesn’t stay up for long. If it helps, i checked his spawn points every day really early in the morning (like 5ish) and one day he spawned around that time with virtually no one around.

Just get up on the hill near the entrance to badlands graveyard then use eagle eye to look at all of his spawns and get that one addon that alerts you if whatever target you list is in the vicinity

i remember killing him with my levelling group in the first couple days of launch cuz we were the first people into the zone.

His respawn timer is ~6 hours, with a little bit of varience. But your best chance is probably to camp the spawn after server reset, spamming eagle eye at each point he can spawn.

Took my hunter a couple of days to get him, was amusing that i ended up being camped by about 4 60 horde after getting him, because a horde hunter was trying as well, we dueled eachother a couple of times but in the end i came out on top. totally worth.

Arcanite Reaper FTW!

I farmed him on my alt for a couple of days and just when I gave up and started to quest in the area. He pop’d… a level 60 orc hunter had just passed by too. I was lv38 at the time. =)

I farmed him for many levels using the 3 point vision idea. Had no luck. Never even saw him. Got killed repeatedly by 60 Alliance hunters while I was lower level.

I sort of gave up. At 60 I was running through the Badlands for some reason and Broken Tooth was just sitting there with a silver dragon around his health bar. I was shocked. I dismissed a fine pet I was using regularly and tamed him on the spot.

I then went through hell training him from 38 to 60. Took days. Was most unpleasant.

Now having been through it all, I would do it again. Broken Tooth is a right of passage for a Hunter. He hits fast, very fast. He shines very well with BM talents that increase speed on crit.

He is simply part of that journey that I wanted when I made a Hunter in the first place.

I promise you Broken Tooth very much exists. He is never there for you because others understand his value. You can get lucky, or just do the 3am to 6am circuit with server resets to find him eventually.

Good luck to you.

Always remember, if it was easy and fast, everyone would have one and yours would not be special. It is the work you put in that makes it special to you and others.
