Finding a guild

Have played on and off for years but haven’t played daily since 2010. I’m looking for a social guild to make leveling and exploring more enjoyable. I have “applied” to several social guilds using the community finding feature. My applications have been pending for quite some time. I was hoping someone would just spam invite me, but that hasn’t happened.

Is there a new and better way to find a guild?

Really? I get spammed constantly on unguilded characters.
Personally when I rerolled at the end of Legion I checked the server forums to see what kind of guilds were on the servers I was looking at before leveling. I found several that matched with what I was looking for. Maybe check there.

Make a post for what you’re looking for on your realms recruitment page.

I’d recommend the wow reddit forums, posts seem to get a lot more responses there than on these forums, even in the guild recruitment forums.

There are also a lot of players taking a break right now, so apps are likely not being checked as regularly as they normally are which might explain why you haven’t been approved yet.

Like what.Coggali said. Most main guild members are MIA. Mine are all totally dead rite now

Go play on a big alliance realm like Stormrage. The realm you’re on is dead and that’s part of your problem.

How to find a guild

  1. Any guild will do : go to SW/OGR and ask for one. Voila
  2. Good guild : Make a research, what’s their timezone, ask around, talk to their Staff, be polite, don’t ask for much… just a roof and a community, contribute, start from there.
  3. Git Good, Get headhunted. Wow (pun intended) with your 8/8 M Achievement.
  4. Create your own, it’s a different experiences all together.

Well, here’s what I did:

  • Watch trade chat for guild recruiting messages. Join one, and then quickly realize all they care about is having a huge roster. (If you’re especially lucky, like me, you’ll also join just in time for a guild meeting in which a guild leader gives the most condescending two-hour lecture imaginable to, ostensibly, a group of adults. Good times.)
  • Check your realm’s forum for guild recruiting posts, only to discover it’s the same guilds spamming trade chat.
  • Find your realm’s Discord server, and use the “Guild Recruiting” channel to find TWO guilds, and join both of them with different characters.
  • Wait until Shadowlands releases, and then make a determination if one’s a better fit than the other one.

Warcraft logs is a great way to market yourself. Be open to transferring and changing factions will only improve your chances at finding the right home.

That’s because the system is broken and no one is seeing guild applications. I wrote a ticket about it a couple weeks ago and it’s still not fixed. I found out because I applied to my own guild on an alt and couldn’t see the application when I logged on my main.

Oh wow. This sounds like a pre patch issue. I don’t recall this being the case before 9.0.1. Thanks for the info

Seems fixed as of today. There were 15 guild applicants when I logged on, including my alt from weeks ago.
