Finding a group for questing dungeons?

Any tips or suggestions on how to go about getting a (level appropriate) low-level dungeon group together?

For example, I have like 6 Blackfathom depths quests clogging up my log at the moment. I would like to run it through at least once ideally a couple of times in a group of other 20s characters (not carried through by a high level) and I’m not sure how to best get/join a group for that. The same applies to every other premax dungeon - I’ve been abandoning quests for deadmines and gnomeregan since I have no idea what to do with them and they’re just taking up space lol.

Do people try to do it in the /1 zone chat? I’ve never seen it and It seems extremely unlikely that you’ll find 5 people of appropriate level, of appropriate roles, who are all online and want to dungeon at that time - out of the 20ish total people in the zone. And trying to do it in trade chat seems just as counter-productive because A) you’re not leveling yourself at that time and B) people who are leveling aren’t sitting in trade chat looking for groups lol.

So I’m kind of at a loss here. Feeling the lack of LFD tool lol. Any suggestions? Maybe just not bother with the dungeons for now and keep on questing? I suppose it wouldn’t be that hard to find someone who can carry through the dungeon just to get the quests done if I really need to but that’s not very fun.

Sorry to break it to you but nobody does bfd anymore. You missed the leveling wave by a mile. We are now in the boosting wave and have been for a while. Content has grown rather stale for most. Players either just raid log or get an alt boosted. Very few will go in low lvl dungeons other than to get boosted by a 60

Try starting your own group.

It’ll be a lot easier forming groups if you’re a tank since “looking for tank” is where most groups die despite that fact that like 20% of the playerbase is warrior lol.

The biggest hurdle is the time commitment. Find a tank and travel-to is the biggest issue here. I think if a tank-warlock duo wanted they could easily pug dungeons all the way to 60.

Also find a leveling guild.

It’s pretty hard to do during off peak hours because of the volume of people paying to have their alts boosted.

Even during peak hours it’s hard.
It took me 6 hours to find a group for RFK & gnomer on Saturday. I just quested while posting once in a while.

Don’t join world, most of the time it’s owned by spergs who ban for no reason and lock it behind gold

Come to Mankrik there’s groups all the time for all dungeons. Lots of people questing, full zones (kinda annoying tbh).

Depends on your server.

Lfg scrolls too quickly. Not too many people have an add on that filters the wts runs from LFG so anything posted will just bony be read

Thanks for the replies.

I didn’t know about the lfg and world channels. Doesn’t hurt to try those!

Yeah I get it that most people are past this and wouldn’t be interested in these and that’s fine. Though in retail it’s very easy to find group with the tool even though most people are past it too but I guess that’s irrelevant. I don’t mind just questing. Just thought to ask in case I was missing some “strategy” or maybe addons that makes the process more realistic.

I imagine it’s not that much of an issue at max or near max level since everyone iis hanging around in cities and you can pug there.

I have never seen anyone try to get a group for this dungeon.

Lol that makes sense; it’s probably my least favorite dungeon… so boring and long and tedious shudders… Like I said though this thread was meant towards every pre-max dungeon. I won’t be in mid 20s forever haha. Not sure why my profile still says I’m 15 but whatever.

Log out of your account then log back in. That should update your level.

Also, I know what you mean about all the dungeon quests we get. Like you, I end up abandoning them.

Don’t just join /LFG. There is also the official /LookingForGroup channel which you can join via your chat settings.

If you want to form a group, your best bet in addition to advertizing, would be whispering level appropriate characters. Type /who warrior 24-30 and whisper everyone “Hey! Sorry for disturbing you. Would you be interested in tanking Gnomer?”.

This works surprisingly often.

Thanks. Just found those options there.

So are custom channels like “lfg” and “world” just popular user-made (unofficial) channels?

In over 10 years of playing I never really looked into any of the channel options besides trade and general heh. And I guess a bit of local defense.

Yes.

Also you can look for a leveling guild. Usually there’s a couple active at all times. At this point they’re really just for people trying to get to max and then move to their real guild, but if you can find a decently sized one there’s always people on, and they’re trying to level too. And because the whole point is leveling, there’s really no drama with leaving when you get to mid-upper 50s if you want to transition to a raiding guild.

Me finding a level appropriate group at 3 a.m. would disagree with you. Also did the same for RFK. SM is still extremely popular in the 30s I ran it for almost 3 levels straight trying to get gear with level appropriate groups, and I see people LFG all the time for Deadmines, Stocks, RFD, Ulda, ZF, etc. It’s not just max level dungeons. I still see people seeking to get attunements done and my guild helps new 60s get them a lot still.

I’ve yet to need to run a dungeon at least for quests and been unable to do so with people around my level. Sometimes it takes a little longer depending on the dungeon, but it hasn’t been impossible.

you are a tank, ezclap. for us that are not tanks, its not an ez clap. my dps alts would seem to disagree with you
