I had the "find fish" on the magnifying glass by the mini map before the Legion patch dropped on July 19, but now it's missing on all my characters ... Removed on purpose or is it a glitch?
Wondering the same thing, I still have it on my character on Legion Beta. However it is missing from Live.
Mine is gone too. I didn't see anything in the patch notes about it. Wonder if they left it out there or took it out of the game for some odd reason.
I managed to fish up a book in beta doing one of the dailies (I think it was the one in Stormheim) and got it back that way, so I think it's just a glitch that it got lost
Same here, missing the option for tracking on my mini map. Unfortunately, it must've been selected when it went MIA, thus I cannot turn it off. Really annoying while I am trying to farm ore. :/ All of my other toons on the same server (Tanaris) still have the ability. And I am not running any addons to interfere with my UI at all.
Same issue here. My main (druid) is missing the Find Fish option in the mini map. All my other toons have it. I thought that it might have bugged once I bought the new Tome: Track Beasts for druids, but sounds like other people are having the same problem too.
This still seems to be an issue. Missing "Find Fish" from the tracking menu. Because of this, fish finding is permanently enabled on this character.

I didn't check every alt, but did check a few of them. They've still got Find Fish, but it's turned off on all of them.

I submitted a bug report and a web ticket for my wife's character.
Here's the rundown. Recently she attempted to copy her character to the Legion Beta, it failed. However I don't know if this is related or not it may be a common thread for others.
I scanned and repaired her game from the launcher. I tested it with a fresh WTF, Cache, and Interface folder.
I even found this macro (which I modified) from mmo-champion forums.

I tested this as a macro on my warlock who still has the ability and it will activate the ability. I then tested it on my wife's hunter using Track Beasts and various others to make sure it worked. It fails with Find Fish.
She has the achievement "Fish don't leave footprints" and we both know she LOVES fishing and has used the tracking ability in the past for various things like fishing up Mr. Pinchy.
This is DEFINITELY a character bug for her. Please try the macro above and let Blizz know if you are bugged.

Just out of testing curiosity, has your wife tried heading out to Zangermarsh and fished up the crates from the junk pools there to see if she can reacquire the Find Fish manual?
She shouldn't be able to get another of the manuals if she's already used one. If she does get one, then it's definitely a huge glitch and she's lost the Find ability entirely.
That might help the QA department in tracking down whats gone wrong.

Since she has the achievement for reading the fishing journal I assumed she wouldn't be able to loot one again. I suppose I can send her out there but at what point would she know she isn't going to get a journal?

That's a good question. It usually didn't take me long to get one from the crates out of those pools.
I might have an alt that doesn't have the manual yet and I can go try. It'll give at least a bit of an indication.

@Tindomerel Thanks for testing that for me but Blizzard answered the ticket and sent her a Weather-Beaten Journal before she had a chance to go fish in Zangarmarsh.
As posted above, I had the Fish Don't Leave Footprints achievement having played this main for years. Lost the Find Fish ability so I did go out and found Floating Wreckage. Got a couple of crates from it and one held the book which let me retrain the ability. Finally I can turn it off! :)
yeah i cant turn it off and its annoying as hell since im a herber as well.
I just noticed this now too. I have no idea what happened to the spell as I know I had it. I can't turn off tracking now and I'm a herbalist.
Just went to fish for the first time in Legion for a World Quest and found out my Find Fish was missing. Just submitted a ticket, and ran around looking for fishing pools the old fashioned way (like an animal).
I can't turn OFF Fish Tracking, and I'd really like to. I'm a Hunter/Alchemist My hubby who plays a Druid/Tailor still has the checkbox for "Find Fish". Why is it gone from mine, but not his?
It's baaack! Missing Find fish, that is.... Will try support ticket!
