I don’t think he looked soft I just thought he looked like a generic gnoll stand-in (which he was).
Yeaaah, in hindsight that really should’ve been more obvious to the community than it was, because of the wrong colors if nothing else.
Well, I think he looked soft, so I guess different strokes for different folks.
The only change I’m really seeing is bigger teeth and more face coat layering.
Hogger needs to look like a rockstar so I am pleased.
Angrier eyes and snarl as opposed to derpy Crash Bandicoot face.
Hogger is supposed to be smarter and a hell of a lot angrier than the average Gnoll, not that I am too pleased to have a species known for making tents out of humans looking like someone’s fursuit, but you take your victories where you can get.

And fwiw, when it comes to designing animal characters, yeah you’re gonna want to ask furries, because they design animal people characters all of the time for a living.
Asking somebody who doesn’t like furries to design anthro races is like asking a pepsi lover to design the next coke flavor.

I still like how that one hogger cosplayer handled his legs. Sure theres other ways to have digitigrade legs but her having black leggings on and hiding her real legs in the darker fur of hoggers legs was really freaking smart. Since her suit is a bit top heavy so other methods of the legs wouldn’t have really worked
Seriously her torso / head is way behind Hoggers neck and I just think this costume is so neat ^w^

Looks a lot more like how an updated version should be, but the original will low resolution model will forever hold a place in many of our hearts.

I think it looks great. I love the updated armor-- I wish they’d make more outfits like this, updated versions of vanilla green gear. His smile is toothier now too. I bet he looks nice out of his T-pose.

I feel like that other one was just a placeholder. This new one clearly has some thought out design and original assets.
