Finally hit 1400 in 2s, but what next?

should i stop playing with people who are less good than me to preserve my rating? i still got some gear that aren’t yet 207 ilvl.

u got 1400 at 207ilvl thats literally impossible cause every game is a 3100 r1 streamer booster carry seller guy with 50k hp and 230ilvl

Get full upgrades to save urself frustration then get back at it. Keep pushing and improving and naturally people doing the same thing will make it into your btag.

Good luck don’t give up and tbh avoid the forums there’s a ton of negativity here

You have the gear to not really lose much for dropping under combatant, so keep going. If youre looking to min max rq though do rbgs or 3s for conquest and just finish the rest of your conq gear (which is just bm and trinket)

lol so true hahahah

1401

Delete game because you will have an impossible time getting past the conduit / gear gap unless you play 20+ hours.

I’m a member of a pvp community that still has around 80 daily active players (we had over 200 last month but a lot are waiting for the next season to re sub), we talk a lot about the best methods to climb with alts or for new players.

0-1400: 2v2 arenas
1400-1600: Rated Battlegrounds
1600-1800: 3v3 arenas
1800-2100: 2v2 arenas

It may seem weird that you’ll need to climb from zero in another rating to progress easier, but if you do only one type of rated pvp you will face huge gear walls, after 1400s in arenas it would be almost pointless to keep queuing because based on current logs more than 80% of the players in the 1400-1600 range are above ilvl 220, while the average ilvl at the same bracket in rbgs is 207 making it easier for you to climb to 1600. I wouldn’t recommend to go past 1600 in rbgs tho, because from 1700cr and upwards about 2/3 of the games you will face carries or boosters, as a lot of them have been moving to rbgs because it’s easier to boost there than in arenas.

After you get your ilvl 213 I would suggest you to climb to 1800 in 3v3, as 2v2 in that bracket is the wild west full of ilvl226 pve players that are stuck in the bracket but they could still kill you in a single stun, if you go for the 3v3 approach I seriously recommend getting an iLvl 220+ healer as most of the players you will face will outgear you and do tons of damage to you, a high iLvl healer will be night and day in your survivability, specially usefully against turbo or hero cleaves comps, where otherwise you will simply not be able to survive the burst, discipline priest or holy paladin really shine at keeping low ilvl players alive, shaman and druid not so much.

I wouldn’t suggest to move back to 3s after 1800s unless you have 226 as 9/10 of teams will be full ilvl226, instead focus on farming all your ilvl 220 gear in rbgs or epic bgs. After getting all your gear to 220, you will be able to go back to 2v2 where you should have an easy climb to 1800s as in our experience most of the people currently queuing 2v2 in 1600-1800 are pve geared and depend a lot of having an iLvl advantage to win.

Sadly from 1800s and upwards unless you have ilvl226 the only viable option to keep climbing is 2v2, if you are serious about climbing avoid queuing without an iLvl 226 partner, it’s just not worth it to queue with someone 220 or less 90% of the time (unless you are really lucky or insanely skilled), and from here on your skill will be tested, only skilled players will manage to make it past 1900s, and it’s going to take some serious time investment, also you should try to find one or two constant partners to play with.

If you manage to get it to 2100 in 2s you can keep climbing there, but you will find that the game is not really balanced for 2v2 and people in high ratings will abuse this fact and play some really cheese one shot comps, so for your mental health I would suggest you to move back to 3v3.

Fixed for ya

Take a pause from 2’s to fully upgrade your slots to 207 then resume queuing; I find that once you break in to a new bracket you’re able to gradually sustain that bracket more (mix of better gear and more experience/familiarity with how teams tend to play around that rating).

What do you mean? They said in an interview with Preach today gear doesn’t matter it’s a player skill issue. Max gear and entry level gear are only a 25% difference. /S in cause anyone doesn’t realize I’m kidding lol.

See what I mean op? Negativity.

Take a break until you can fully upgrade all your gear to at least 207ilvl. Then push to 1600 which should not be that difficult monks are strong in 2’s… good damage and mobility. Then break again and upgrade everything to 213ilvl. 1600-1800 is where it gets rough. I had a easier time getting to 1800 doing 3’s… less glad carries and boosters in 3’s.
