You can file it under “disinterested in travel in general”. All they did was make travel from A to B with extra steps. Like I said previously, travel is a means to an end, not an end in itself. I have no interest in “engaging” with my mount for the time it take same to get where I’m going. Just like I have absolutely no interest in “engaging” with my car on the drive to work. The less brain power/effort it takes the better.
And like others have said, you can’t even use your other mounts. You know, the ones you like and have worked hard to collect like Invincible on my DK or the Skyscreamer on my Hunter. You have what 4 or 5 skins and that’s it? They couldn’t even make the CE mount a dragon riding mount. That’s how much effort they put into it.

Thank you for your opinion. I will direct you to the first accessible caller. In the meantime, good luck getting around the Dragon Isles, and please inform a professional after the beep.
Not disputing anyone’s right to dislike a system, but did want to point out one fallacy:
I have no interest in “engaging” with my mount for the time it take same to get where I’m going.
Properly used, the dragons are more than twice as fast as a standard flying mount, and it’s easy to maintain that speed (and flight) indefinitely. Once you have all of the upgrades, which take about an hour to collect if you use a guide and make a TomTom waypoint macro for each zone, it makes travel across the entire continent a matter of minutes.
It makes a lot of sense.
1.) It’s fast. Unreal fast. I could definitely make it from Valdrakken to Iskaara and back to Valdrakken before you’d get to Iskaara on a normal mount. I might even be able to beat you back to Iskaara.
2.) Once you get the glyphs it’s impossible to be bad at it. Jump, jump again while pointing up, turn blue, press 1 everytime you you get a recharge point and don’t need to go up, if you need to go up press 2 when you get a recharge point. You will be maxxed out speed wherever you are going and will always be able to recharge points. You can very nearly fly straight up into the sky infinitely.
3.) After dragon flying for even a day and then going back and flying on a normal mount you can feel how slow and how bad it is. It just feels clunky going back to it.
4.) You don’t have to worry about afking flying anywhere because you fly so fast you get there nearly immediately. Just step away when you get to where you’re going.
The only thing I wish it had was a hover option. I would even take a 3 vigor talent that lets you hover indefinitely. I mis afking in the sky so I didn’t have to meld or worry about mobs. Other than that, it’s a straight upgrade.
