Congratulations!
I know you compared like for like prices on the samples you got, but I would say in general, your average 3080 is a bit less expensive than the average 6800XT.
In many cases, the 6800 non-XT costs as much as a 3080.
With that said, the 3080 being slightly behind the 6800XT isn’t a bad thing since it’s usually less expensive, as well as has improved RT and DLSS.
It’s hard to say, my card the Taichi was the most expensive card available at $830 when I bought it, this Strix was $950.
Got my ASUS TUF 3080 OC mid December at $750
Last week people got 3080fe for $699
If you look at the selection, these way more models of 3080 under $800 than there are 6800xt
FE cards are still $700, reference 6800xt’s are still 650. Due to Tariff’s that same TUF OC is now $850. Granted I called BS on this, just a cash grab for more money.
My Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC at $962 here. Currently all shops scalping all RTX 3080 at $1200 onwards.
Except reference 6800xts are far and few between
I had to stand in line with 100 other people like some kind of 90s kid to get mine. These cards are worst than shiny pokemon.
