I’ve had it for a while now. Along with Invincible, TLPD, Aeonaxx, etc. They stopped becoming special a while ago I think, and I rarely use them. But I did finally get the one mount that I’ve been after for 14 years just the other day, the Headless Horseman’s Reins. There are few other mounts left in the game that I actually want. Congrats on getting one of the big ones!

Wow! You have an impressive collection! I don’t have any of those others you mentioned! I have tried for TLPD so many times.
Any tips in how to snag it?

Have a level 40-49 alt sit in war mode storm peaks. Randomly log in that alt at different times to see if you can spawn it where you’re parked. How I did it a few weeks ago.

I just very recently hit the 300 on one character achievement. I know there are lots of people out there with more than me! I just had a very targeted collection goal that happened to include several rare ones. Maybe someday I’ll get the Heavenly Onyx…to be honest, I don’t even particularly like the cloud serpents, but they have some of the coolest looking effects. I got the Thundering Onyx one to drop while Pandaria was still current by pure luck.
There really are no special tips for those super rare open world mounts like TLPD. You just have to have the patience of a saint, basically, and not care that you could be doing countless other things that are actually fun for a period of time that is completely undefinable. Could be today. Could be tomorrow. Could be 600 days from now. 
depends on RNG and perseverance plus a little luck cause you aren’t the only one there.
Or, you could casually farm it by leaving an alt in the zone forever and just check a few times a day. Or you could toss all that and just be extremely extremely lucky.

To this day, I still think Ashes of A’lar is one of the best mounts. I haven’t done any Legion, BFA nor Shadowlands stuff (with the exception of unlocking Void Elves, Lightforged Draenei and Nightborne races, that’s the extent of my post-WoD participation).
Though, I am interested in the AH Mount and the Lucid Nightmare (and other versions that look like it). As I don’t have those mounts.
I still think the Netherwing Drakes are awesome.

That’s pretty much where I am.
When I started WoW, I wanted to collect all the mounts. As the mount count went up into the hundreds, I stopped caring. “Yay, another mount I’ll never use.” My time can be used for my productive things.

My goal was lord of the reins title, managed to get it before my 1 year anniversary of playing WoW… but yeah not really chasing them at this point, there’s a few reps I could grind to pick up another 15 and quite a few class hall mounts I need (only have 5 characters) or so but after that they’re pretty much all super rare or long time investments.

See normally I really wouldn’t care much either, but I have been watching a lot of Asmongold’s Mount Off videos, and I would have to tag out really early every time because he goes Ashes in less than 10 rounds almost every time.
Will I ever get into one of his comps? I don’t play Alliance and he really does Horde, so probably not… But Darn It, if he ever does, now I can go a little farther than I used to!

I remember getting it on my Warlock one morning after I got off working a 12 hour night shift and wasn’t ready for sleep.
About the same thing happened when I finally got the Astral Cloud Serpent. It was Valentines day morning last year and i woke about 2 AM, couldn’t sleep more and tried for it on my Monk. Boom it dropped.
Some mounts take forever but you are right, do not give up.

Working on that myself. I’m running 5 toons a week right now and have a DK at level 48 almost ready to become #6.
Right now I have 3 Paladins, 1 Do and 1 Druid farming that, ICC, and about to start Mogushan Vaults next since I have now finished TK.
I got Invincible and Ashes without really trying, but what I really want is Mimeron’s Head.
