I got 1797 a few rounds after capping then it started to give me team mates who don’t ice block or turtle and I went up and down the toilet being flushed and plunged back up.

I jumped back into pvp after a 2 year break, last night. Iv only ever gotten to 1760 in my life. Never quite got to 1800. I’ll be trying to accomplish that this weekend and next week. Good job on your end!

This happened to me in DF. My MMR and CR melded together to create a terrible hell spiral. Over 400 solo shuffle games played where any win squeaked out would give me like 5 points, and the losses (and terrible draw games) were -30+ points.
One of my earlier matches at 1797 broke me. Someone left mid game on the second match and I lost a TON of points for it. Never recovered.
Now I came back in TWW duelist x2 (with every elite set I wanted on all toons), and Rival 2 (s3) with 4 elite sets currently, without much effort for no reason at all.
Not exactly sure what happened back then, but it had for the rest of the expansion ruined my confidence in pvp’ing entirely.
That’s my PVP sob story 
Having fun now, though. Just constantly remind myself not to take it too seriously or I get really discouraged.
